Did you know walking football can be a great way to stay active with Parkinson’s? ⚽💙

Walking football is a slower-paced, non-contact version of the game, making it accessible & enjoyable for many people living with Parkinson’s.

Regular participation can help with:
⚽️ Improving balance and coordination
⚽️ Maintaining strength and mobility
⚽️ Enhancing confidence with movement
⚽️ Supporting social connection and wellbeing

Exercise doesn’t have to be boring, finding something you enjoy can make all the difference!

With World Parkinson’s Day coming up, we are helping to raise awareness 💙🌷

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, balance, and coordination. It can also impact things like speech, mood, and daily activities.

While there is currently no cure, the right support can make a meaningful difference in quality of life. Early recognition and staying active with varied types of exercise are key to management of Parkinson’s.

This week, we want to raise awareness, show support, and better understand the challenges faced by those living with Parkinson’s.

Understanding Muscle Tone 💪

Muscle tone is the natural tension in your muscles that keeps us stable, upright, and ready to move. In neurological conditions, changes in tone (either too low or too high) can affect balance, movement, and everyday activities.

Physiotherapy plays a key role in managing these changes. We work to improve movement control, reduce stiffness, build strength, and support independence.

Whether it’s improving walking, balance, or hand function, understanding muscle tone is essential for effective rehabilitation and better quality of life 💙
