Healthy New Me Looking after health and wellness through excellent nutrition and positive mental health messages

At Healthy New Me, I’m passionate about supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond — helping them feel healthier, more confident, and more connected. I focus on nutrition, mindfulness, and creating a strong sense of community, so no one has to go through this journey alone. With my background as a Registered General Nurse (RGN), Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN),

Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and Licensed Menopause Champion with the Menopause Experts Group, I combine clinical expertise with a compassionate, personal approach. Through group sessions, one-to-one coaching, online support, and in-person meetups, Healthy New Me offers flexible, tailored guidance to help women take control of their health and wellbeing — not just during menopause, but for the years beyond.

"It's the little things in life that put it all in perspective..."

Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the next workshop, the next challenge, the next video, the next idea. But every now and then, a message like this lands in my inbox and reminds me exactly why I do what I do. ❤️

This is my passion.

I'm constantly thinking of new ways to connect with, support and educate our members. Whether it's Breakfast Club, workshops, Menopause Mayhem, Healthy Habits Focus Fortnights, videos, resources or simply being there when someone needs a nudge in the right direction, everything is created with one goal in mind – helping people regain their health, confidence and wellbeing.

I don't believe in quick fixes or empty promises. I believe in education, understanding, sustainable habits and honest support. Sometimes that support is gentle, sometimes it's challenging, and occasionally it's a little bit brutal! But it always comes from a place of wanting the very best for every single member.

Reading messages like this reminds me that the hours spent planning, creating and innovating are worth every second.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. Seeing people reconnect with their health, remember how far they've come, and feel excited about their future never gets old. 🥰

This is so much more than weight loss, menopause or life coaching. It's about building a healthier, happier life, one small habit at a time. ❤️

A little reminder from someone who doesn't always take her own advice...
You HAVE to look after yourself first.
As women, mums, carers, partners, friends, colleagues, and business owners, we spend so much of our time looking after everyone else. But if we run ourselves into the ground, who looks after us?
The truth is that so many people rely on us. And when we go down, the whole deck of cards can start to wobble.
So today, please make yourself a priority.
💧 Hydrate well. 🍎 Fuel your body with nourishing food. 😴 Rest when you can. 🚶‍♀️ Move your body. 🥜 Keep healthy snacks close by for those busy days.
Looking after yourself isn't selfish. It's essential.
You deserve to feel well. You deserve to have energy. You deserve the same care and compassion that you give to everyone else.
Self-care isn't selfish. It's self-respect. ❤️

Just finished our 2nd live prep session for the Healthy Habits Focus Fortnight. Today was all about reflection. We have more videos and lives to connect with over this week and then into the fortnight which begins on June 8th SO EXCITED !!!

Confession time...
A week off my usual nutrition routine and my reflux has made an unwelcome return. 🔥
Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect our digestive system, and good nutrition really does help. That said, if you're experiencing new, persistent, or worsening digestive symptoms, please get them checked out. Don't automatically assume it's "just menopause."
As for me? A few sunny afternoons with my husband, a drink in hand, laughing, chatting, and putting the world to rights? ☀️❤️
Worth it.
Health isn't about never doing the things you enjoy. It's about making informed choices and accepting the occasional consequence.
Today: reflux. Last week: connection, laughter, and memories.
I'll take that trade. 😊

🏃‍♀️💨 Excuse me while I run into Zoom...
Tonight we're kicking off the first LIVE workshop of our Healthy Habit Focus Fortnight inside Healthy New Me!
Our members are spending the evening learning how to set effective health goals that actually lead to lasting change—not the unrealistic, all-or-nothing goals that get abandoned by the second week.
Over the next fortnight we'll be focusing on the small habits that create big results, with support, accountability, coaching and practical tools to help our members succeed.
As women navigating perimenopause and menopause, we're often told to "just lose weight", "try harder" or "have more willpower". The reality is that changing hormones can affect our energy, sleep, motivation, mood, appetite and confidence. That's why understanding how to work with your body, rather than fighting against it, is so important.
This is exactly why I created Healthy New Me. Not another diet. Not another quick fix. A community where women can learn, grow, improve their nutrition, and build healthier lifestyles that work in the real world.
If you're watching this and feeling fed up with hot flushes, poor sleep, low energy, stubborn weight gain, or simply not feeling like yourself anymore, know that you don't have to figure it all out alone.
And if you're watching this and wishing you had this kind of support on your own health journey... maybe it's time we had a chat. 😉💜
Now, I'd better get into Zoom before my members start without me!

Hi
With so many new followers I wanted to give you 5 things to know about me that were fun 😉
I'm also a registered nurse of over 20 years , specialist in community public health for the last 12 and a half years, family nurse partnership trained 11 years ago, a Fellow of the HEA, lecturer, researcher and manager in Higher Education for 10 years, and a licensed menopause champion. Privately I'm a mum of 3 fabulous kids 🥰 wife to Eate (long suffering husband through my own menopause journey), a daughter, and a friend.
I know my stuff, but most of all I get it! I'm riding the storm too!
I can't promise the journey will be easy but I can promise you I will listen, coach and guide you through this journey. I will work with you alone, in small groups or with your family. We will look together at ALL aspects of your life and support you to implement practical, realistic solutions whether you want to give down the HRT or holistic route or have a mix of the 2 🥰

Sleep one of the most important things for your health but one if the first things to go with hormone fluctuations be that normal monthly cycles or perimenopause, menopause and beyond 🙄

Some days, there isn’t a dramatic reason.
Nothing has “gone wrong.”
I’ve taken my HRT, eaten well, stayed hydrated, work’s gone well, I’ve achieved what I wanted to achieve today… and yet I still feel a bit meh. Deflated. Flat. A little bit yuk.
And honestly? That’s normal too.
Healing, hormones, wellbeing and mental load aren’t linear. You can do all the right things and still have days where your body and brain just aren’t feeling it. It doesn’t mean your HRT isn’t working. It doesn’t mean you’re failing. It doesn’t mean you need to “snap out of it.”
Sometimes being kind to yourself is accepting that today is simply a lower-energy day and not turning it into a personal failure.
So if today feels a bit heavy for no obvious reason, you’re not alone. ❤️

Today I am knowingly doing TWO things that I KNOW are not going to help my hot flushes 😂🔥
1️⃣ I’ve gone out in the heat.
Yes, I’m dressed appropriately, but the heat naturally overheats me and triggers hot flushes.
2️⃣ I’m planning on sitting in a beer garden and having an alcoholic drink.
And yes… alcohol can absolutely impact hot flushes too 🍹
Could this lead to night sweats and a disturbed night’s sleep later?
Probably. Especially because it is SO freakin’ hot already 🥵
BUT… this is an informed choice. I know the possible consequences and I’m choosing to enjoy myself anyway.
The important thing is understanding your body, making informed decisions, and supporting yourself where you can. For me, that means hydrating REALLY REALLY well 💦 and compensating by spending the hottest part of the day indoors in the n**e 🤣
Menopause support isn’t about perfection. It’s about balance, awareness, and living your life without fear.
Wish me luck 😂 xx
