It’s almost Cancer season divas, so get ready because we are feeling all the feels! After all the socialising, connecting and networking of last season, the focus now is on coming back home to ourselves, and nurturing our emotional intelligence.

There’s a lot going on such as Chiron entering Ta**us for the first time in about seven years! We have a beautiful Summer Solstice that officially marks the beginning of Cancer season, so take some time here to acknowledge and celebrate just how far you’ve come since Aries season!

We have a couple of retrogrades coming up too so give yourself permission to enjoy that much needed downtime that Cancer season brings, after a busy and social Gemini season.

Cancer is ruled by The Moon, so notice when you trust your gut instinct and higher intuition, and see if there are ways you can develop these for more confidence in your decision making.

Keep watching for this month’s card pull, and let me know in the comments how Gemini season felt for you.

Creating your free monthly yoga practices (WITHOUT GenAI, like ChatGPT 🤢) takes me around a week; from inception to completion. I use Notion to remain focused and on track!

I spend a day researching key planetary transits, getting ideas out of my head and on paper. I spend a day creating the practice, and curating the playlist; mat rolled out, music on. I spend a day filming, editing, uploading and scheduling. Then a couple of days creating the rest of my content, like the blog post, newsletter, journal, and planning out my social media content (that’s a separate process!). All of which is designed to promote one free pre-recorded online yoga practice.

I also teach this same practice in-person for our monthly Sunrise Beach Yoga, or when I cover at a local studio. Because why reinvent the wheel? Especially when repetition creates a sense of familiarity in the body that can ensure feelings of safety for the nervous system!

As a college lecturer, lesson planning was without a doubt one of my fave parts of the job (after teaching!), as a business manager and trainer in corporate beauty, I ADORED training new therapists to elevate their approach to their craft! When I qualified as a yoga teacher, struggling to find the joy in lesson planning, hit me kinda hard. It has taken me FIVE YEARS to finally find that joy again!!

After two years away from teaching community practices, my life being turned completely upside down (for the better, but that’s a story for another day, diva!), I cannot begin to express to you how grateful I am every day, that I genuinely look forward to this process of practice creation!

STOP SCROLLING

Hey diva, come and try this mudrā meditation with me for the next three minutes.

We’re taking netra mudrā today, which is the gesture of the eye, and is about being able to see beyond the physical.

So take the time here to notice how it feels when you start to discern between gut instinct and higher intuition.

What does inner wisdom feel like for you?

Do you call on your gut, your heart, and your ability to zoom out and see the bigger picture?

Each time you practice netra mudrā, see how it feels to notice the difference between gut instinct and higher intuition, especially when making important decisions.

Bring your awareness inwards and learn to trust your gut instinct.

Draw your awareness beyond, and widen your horizons.

Let me know in the comments below how this practice felt for you, or drop 🫁 🫁 🫁 so I know you gave it a try.

Want more time to stay with this? Sign up (FREE!) to join My Soul Alchemy Community via the link in my bio (newsletter), and each month I’ll send you a FREE yoga practice, including breath work, mudrā and meditation. I’ll also send you THREE FREE practices to get you started, diva!!

You already have all the answers within you, you just have to be quiet enough to listen.

This month is all about playful expansion, so next time you roll out your mat to flow with me, or practice lateral breathing, notice where you find that playfulness, and where you avoid it.

And then ask yourself when and where you can bring that same playfulness into your everyday life.

Remember, the answers are already within you, you just have to be quiet enough to listen, diva.

It’s Gemini season divas, or as someone so succinctly put it in the comments last week “it’s yapping season!’, and I kinda love that so I’m using it!

I’m actually really excited to share a little part of this month’s free community practice with you on here!

This month is all about playful expansion, and although I’m guiding you through the shapes, I’m constantly encouraging you to play, don’t be too rigid, and only follow along with what I’m doing.

In this vinyasa (flow), I take you through anjaneyāsana, ashta chandrasāna, and a variation of parivrtta parsvakonāsana.

Remember, you have full autonomy of your body, so if something doesn’t feel good, diva! Don’t do it!! Stop. Take a breather, and come into your happy shop whatever that feels like for you. I’m currently loving virāsana (kneeling) and makarāsana (crocodile).

Let me know in the comments how you found this practice or drop a 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏼‍♀️ to let me know you’ve given it a try.

Want the full FREE practice? Click the link in my bio and I’ll send you a 3-part series as well including breath work, movement, and meditation (for FREE!), to get you started.

Welcome to episode 1 in this series of chats called “Why Yoga and AI Cannot Co-exist”, where I walk us through the eight limbed path of Patañjali, and we develop our understanding of why AI flies directly in the face of, not only everything the wellness industry claims to stand for, but more specifically, yoga.

If you are a yoga teacher (and indeed a wellness pro!), or simply have a keen interest in wellness, yoga, and AI, then this series is for you, diva!

Today we are focusing specifically on ahimsā, which translates to non-violence. According to Patañjali “Himsā means to cause pain, thus ahimsā means not to cause pain. Even by your words and your thoughts, you can cause pain”.

This is explained further when we consider that “We need not even cause the pain directly for the reaction to occur”.

This is what happens when we use GenAI, such as ChatGPT; I specifically reference ChatGPT because it is the single largest donor of the Trump administration.

Every time a person uses GenAI to create a guided meditation, social media script or caption, they are directly feeding into a machine that is ultimately being used for harm, and to cause pain to every single one of us, globally.

That is himsā, the opposite of ahimsā. I remind you of the quote from this book, “We need not even cause the pain directly for the reaction to occur”.

Just because something does not directly affect you, does not give you the right to turn a blind eye, especially if you are a wellness pro who claims to “love Mother Earth”. Your use of GenAI to create meditation guides is literally ra**ng her of her water reserves. If you are a yoga teacher who talks about ahimsā in your practices, but you used GenAI to create your latest social media caption, you have both directly and indirectly enaged in himsā (causing pain).

You didn’t use it before it became popular (popular does not equate to cool by the way!), so I encourage you to ask yourself why you feel the need to use it now? I’m also interested to know if you’ll use it again after watching this video?

Ignorance is not bliss, diva! Let’s use our privilege for good!!
