Today, our Complex Care Nurse, Marie Wheeler, led a practical training session for our care team, helping staff strengthen the specialist skills needed to support clients with complex healthcare needs safely and confidently.

Continuous professional development is at the heart of what we do. Through regular clinical training, competency assessments, and hands-on learning, we ensure our team stays knowledgeable, confident, and equipped to deliver the highest standards of person-centred care.

A well-trained workforce means safer care delivery, greater staff confidence, improved client outcomes, and consistent, high-quality support for those with complex needs.

Thank you, Marie, for sharing your expertise and supporting the ongoing development of our team.

Today we are recognising Learning Disability Week, and this year’s theme ‘do you see me’.

This theme highlights the challenges people with disabilities face every day and ensuring they are actively seen, heard, and included in society.

While progress has been made, many still face challenges such as:

- Fewer employment opportunities
- Barriers in accessing spaces and services
- Negative stereotypes

Let’s continue to create a society where everyone feels valued and supported.

Wholegrain pasta with spinach and tomato.
Serves 1-2 people.

How to make it:

1) Cook wholegrain pasta according to the packet instructions.
2) In a separate pan, sauté garlic, chopped spinach, and cherry tomatoes in olive oil.
3) Stir in a spoonful of tomato puree and season to taste.
4) Toss the pasta in the sauce and finish with grated parmesan.

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain awareness month 🧠

Taking care of your brain is one of the most important things you can do – it is your body’s powerhouse!

Here are some simple but powerful habits you can do to support good brain health…

• Get moving – regular exercise boosts blood flow to the brain and body.
• Manage diabetes – keeping blood sugars under control can help reduce the long–term risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
• Watch your blood pressure – know your numbers and protect your brain for the future!
• Eat right – eating healthy foods support your mood, focus and memory.
• Maintain a healthy weight – a balanced lifestyle supports both your body and your brain.
• Sleep well – Good quality sleep helps your brain clear harmful toxins related to Alzheimer’s disease.

The small changes you make today can make big differences in your future!

At Prestige Nursing & Care we’re here to support you with the care you need that prioritises both your body and mind. Want to read more about our dementia care? Click here: https://www.prestige-nursing.co.uk/conditions-we-care-for/dementia-services/

A review that means everything to us.

When a Client takes the time to share words like these, it reminds us exactly why we do what we do.

At Prestige Nursing & Care Chichester and Worthing, we believe that great care is about so much more than the practical support we provide. It is about consistency, trust, and genuinely getting to know the people we care for — so that every visit feels familiar, reassuring, and personal.

If you or someone you love is considering care at home in Chichester, Worthing, or across West Sussex, we would love to have a conversation.

Ten years. That says everything.
We're so proud to share this review from the daughter of one of our long-standing clients. Behind words like these is an entire team who show up every single day with consistency, kindness, and real care.
A special mention to Gill and Rachaela — you know who you are.

If you support families or clients navigating care at home in Chichester or Worthing, we'd love to connect.

What an incredible day!

Today, our team headed to London for the Homecare Association Annual Conference 2026 — "The Future of Homecare '26" — and we came back feeling truly inspired.

The conference covered a wide range of important topics shaping the future of home care, including innovation, workforce, digital care, and the evolving role of community providers within the NHS.
One of the discussions that really resonated with us was Neighbourhood Health — the NHS's vision to bring care closer to people's homes and communities. As a local, nurse-led home care team here in West Sussex, we feel passionate about this every single day.

It was brilliant to connect with so many dedicated people who share our commitment to keeping people safe, well, and independent at home.

To every nurse working today, in every setting — your work matters more than words can say.

Allow us to introduce you to Marie, our Complex Care Nurse:-

I’m Marie, and I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2006 after studying at Southampton University. Since then, my career has been dedicated to working in elderly care, with a particular focus on acquired brain injuries, dementia and end-of-life care.

I’m fully trained in complex clinical care and take great pride in mentoring and supporting care teams to grow in confidence and deliver exceptional care.

Whether supporting clients, families, or staff, my approach is always rooted in compassion, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to improving lives. I previously worked for Prestige between 2019 and 2022, and it has been a pleasure to return and continue to help grow the complex team to enable more people to remain at home and independent for as long as they can.

Welcome Marie, we are so pleased to have you on our team!

On Saturday, Emma, our Customer Relations Manager, attended the first Later Life Living Festival in Chichester.

The purpose of the event was to give the local community information to help them make informed choices when planning for living in later life. The event was very well attended and it was amazing to spend time talking to Jess Brown-Fuller about the services we offer and the continuous challenges within Social Care.

Emma has been part of the steering group of Sussex Care Hub - Chichester for nearly a year and has supported the planning of this amazing event.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and talked to Emma, she really enjoyed meeting you.
