I’m not sure I chose to move into a new chapter. Life pretty much shoved me into it.
In the space of a few weeks, my mum got sick and died, I got married, went on my honeymoon and came home to plan her funeral.
There was no gentle transition. No time to process one thing before the next thing happened.
And then came the strangest realisation of all: life just… keeps going.
I can’t change what happened. I can’t have my mum back. But I can decide what I do with the life she gave me.
So I’m trying to live it. Properly.
To swim. Ride my bike. Move my body. Travel. Laugh. Love. Try new things. Be terrible at some of them. Get better at others. And keep finding reasons to be excited about being here.
Moving forward doesn’t mean leaving her behind. I think making the most of my life might be one of the best ways I can honour hers. 🤍
If you’re figuring out how to keep living after losing someone you love, stick around. We can figure out this next chapter together.
