On Tuesday 16th June 6PM BST 19.00 CEST Alice will be presenting an Introduction to the Summer School 2026:

A discussion of the body in Japanese culture and how this can inform our work​,
inspired by the article, The Idea of the Body in Japanese Culture and its Dismantlement by Hiroyuki Noguchi

- Looking at how culture informs our understanding of the body
- How Japanese and European culture see the body differently
- How the European view of the body has changed over time
- What does the European view of the body suggest for bodywork (Shiatsu and Sei-Ki)?
- What does the traditional Japanese view of the body suggest for bodywork?
- Looking ahead to the Summer School in August

What an immersive experience; Sei-Ki & nature & life; explorative; surprising and touching encounters, and so much more.

This year’s ‚Sei-Ki on the Edge“ was rich and nourishing, enjoyable and exciting. Like one big Sei-Ki session over four days (almost five).

With great food
great weather
a breathtaking view

but most of all
with a great group of curious people
enjoying exploring Sei-Ki together
connecting to themselves and to each other

meeting their own edge�
and emerging anew
noticing change
softening
supporting each other

We, Alice Whieldon and Alexandra Gelny really enjoyed being your guides.

Working with you, seeing and feeling change happening, sharing experiences, food and the unique space and surroundings with you… this all still continues to resonate deeply in us.

Once again, we have seen that a residential workshop is so much more than the sum of its parts.
And it’s really a great format to explore and discover Sei-Ki - not as a method, but as The Way of Touch.

We thank Hyakujōgan Zendo Hohe Wand for having hosted us again this year,
we thank for nourishing us so well with their food cooked with so much love,

Our annual Sei-Ki Residential workshop ‚Sei-Ki on the Edge‘ has evolved to be a really special event in the Sei-Ki workshop year.
This year’s edition will be the third of its kind, yet it is unique each time.
We still have a few places available! 💫

Alice Whieldon will guide you through intense 4 days of Sei-Ki, supported by Alexandra Gelny and at the spectacular location of BergZendo Hyakujōgan Zendo Hohe Wand Hohe Wand, about an hour South from Vienna and easily accessible by public transport, also from Vienna airport.
‚Sei-Ki on the Edge‘ is your chance to fully immerse yourself in Sei-Ki, The Way of Touch, with focus, camaraderie and joy . ☀️

A residential workshop is so much more than the sum of its parts. 🌱
We swim in the Sei-Ki atmosphere without dissipating it through contact with our normal everyday world. 🚪 This helps subvert the idea that it is simply a technique for health and it embeds Sei-Ki as a way of life. 💖🧭

This Residential is for you, either if you have been exploring Sei-Ki for some time and enjoy immersing yourself into this work in a Residential setting, or if you have been curious about Sei-Ki and feel that now is the right time to dive right in (so, no previous experience of Sei-Ki required).

Sei-Ki on the Edge could be a great start or a milestone on your Sei-Ki journey! 🚶‍♀️‍➡️🌿💫

✨ The Sei-Ki Training Journey continues…

We have just spent another five intense days in Vienna, with the Sei-Ki Training group of 2025/26 🌿✨

It’s wonderful to witness changes and deepening of the practice of Sei-Ki in everyone, and to support each participant on their Sei-Ki journey.
🙌
There is joy, connection and the desire to be with what really is, and to carry on on The Way of Touch. 🫆

This was the second in-person workshop of this year’s Sei-Ki Training. We started in September with a Residential workshop in Germany, and since then, have met the group regularly online - for a Book Club, online modules (exploring the history and philosophy of Sei-Ki and how to relate to that), exercise sessions, Katsugen practice and group supervision. 🌀

🌱 We see how continuity can help to keep Sei-Ki fresh in everyone, and how ongoing support can nourish dedication and courage to go deeper.

The journey continues…
…online and in-person, and we look forward to every moment of it.
