Thank you to everyone who has followed our page. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Nadia and I am a local mum, and my journey began 19 years ago when my son was diagnosed as autistic at the age of two. What followed was a lifelong journey of discovery, one filled with learning, joy, tears, resilience, and unconditional love.
As my son grew, so did my awareness of how difficult it can be to find places that truly feel comfortable, accepting, and inclusive. Simple outings often felt overwhelming, and spaces that genuinely understood and welcomed people with special needs and disabilities were hard to find. Too often, families are left feeling isolated or excluded, simply because the world is not designed with everyone in mind.
Alongside this, my family has also been touched by dementia. Seeing a loved one live with dementia has shown me how important calm, familiar, and sensory-friendly environments are for adults as well. Supportive spaces can bring comfort, reduce anxiety, and create moments of connection, not only for those living with dementia, but for their families and carers too.
This multi-sensory centre was born from these lived experiences.
My vision is to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for people of all age, supporting individuals with special needs, disabilities, neurodiversity and adults living with dementia. A place designed with understanding at its core, where individuals, families, carers, and the wider community can relax, engage, explore, and feel accepted exactly as they are.
At the heart of this centre is my son. I want to give him not only a job, but a sense of purpose, confidence, and the opportunity to fulfil his dreams, just as every young adult deserves. This centre is about creating meaningful opportunities, breaking down barriers, and showing what is possible when inclusion is lived, not just spoken about.
This is a space for the community, built on compassion, lived experience, and a deep belief that everyone deserves dignity, connection, and a place where they truly belong.
We can’t wait to get started and look forward to meeting you later on in the year.
