MANTRA OF THE DAY

RAMA LAKSHMANA JANAKI

This Mantra is based on the Hindu Scripture- the Ramayana. This was one of my favourite lessons when I was an RS teacher!

It is the story of how Rama (the rightful king) was banished from his kingdom with his wife Sita and friend Lakshmana.
While in the wilderness, Sita was tricked to leave the safety of her magically protected hut. The evil demon Ravana disguised himself as a holy man and begged Sita for help. When she went to help him he turned back into his demon form, kidnapped her and took her off to his island of Lanka.
Rama and Lakshmana were helped by the creatures of the forest to find Sita’s whereabouts. And, supported by Hanuman the leader of the monkey armies, they went to Lanka and rescued Sita.
They then returned to the royal palace where they were welcomed by the king. He had never wanted the crown and had left Rama’s slippers by the throne waiting for his return.
Rama became king and this whole epic tale is an illustration of the power of goodness and Light to defeat evil and darkness if we hold on to our truth and keep our own Light (vibration) strong.

Settle down at some time today and spend some time with this chant. You may like to set the intention to be open to insight about how you might keep your Light vibration strong.
