The Wild Circle

The Wild Circle Spaces for ritual, reflection and connection. Women's circles in Gloucestershire and online. That beauty is access to joy.

I believe in beautiful spaces for women to come together in safety and solidarity, to find sanctuary and soulful connection as often as they need it. I trained in circle facilitation with Sister Stories, and believe in their mission - that ‘going to circle’ should become as commonplace for women as going to yoga. I believe in the importance of slowing down and connecting with yourself and your community of sisters. I believe we need ritual in our lives, something that signals to our minds and bodies that it is time to stop, to reflect, to be curious and open. I believe we all deserve the chance to spend time in the presence of beauty. That we all deserve to make time for joy. I believe in being inspired by the words and stories of others, that all women, all over the world, all have a story to share and something to teach us.

A morning cuppa, on the cosy rug, leaning against the Aga, thinking about what's ahead - absolute almost-Autumn vibes. I made some quite big changes to my working life over the summer and the shape of how that's going to look in the coming months is unclear right now. Trusting the process has always been my approach, but it's not always easy and I'm digging deep into my courage and also the support around me. What is exciting though is more time to deepen into circle work and circle training. Building on what I am proud to say are circles and retreats which are truly thriving, expanding the work in new ways and welcoming the space to create and envision.

When your teacher and mentor, who you now work with running circle training, knows you so well she delivers the most bang-on birthday present ever. Gemma Brady | Sister Stories and I have a running joke between us that involves her using a chilli 🌶️ emoji whenever I'm being extra punchy or spicy. Which to be fair, is quite often. This morning, this incredible necklace turned up in the post. And I have literally never felt so seen 😂 - thank you Gemma for all the 🌶️ and the, as always, inspiring work.

~ our quiet power ~

“Kindness moves through us like sap, like blood, until our limbs rub up against each other, and we remember: We are not one, but part of a sacred grove.” James Crews

I am still soaking up the inner warmth and the feel of sunshine in my heart that has been with me since Saturday.

Every time we run Ground & Gather, it feels like a momentum of growing wisdom, fronds of kindness rippling out from our circle, an absolute sense of quiet power and infinite grace.

Part of our ritual this time was to connect with a big, open ended question inside us. To write it down on a leaf, a bark, a stick. And then to place it somewhere in the woods a amongst an ancient root, in the crook of a branch, in a nest of leaves. Entrusting the question of our lives to the great wisdom of nature, of the endless cycles of life, of everything in its time.

The woods are taking great and nourishing care of those questions now, holding them in ancient wisdom and trust, waiting patiently to see what emerges as we open into the path ahead.

And of course, also, this summer edition we created a woodland feast - 20 women, gathered around a long table amongst the trees, eating home-cooked food, sharing their stories and lives with each other, in the most simple and sacred of ways.

Our next retreat is in September - and is already half sold out. If you'd like to be there, to welcome the new season and quiet power of being together in the woods, then head to the link in our bio.

Very important things you should know about our gathering in the woods next weekend

1) It's going to be filled with incredible women. So much so that we're almost sold out. One space left!
2) There will ritual and sacred practices to reconnect us to the earth
3) There will also be time to laze in a hammock and read your book (or one of ours)
4) There will be the constant warmth of the camp fire all day
5) And a lunchtime feast amongst the trees
6) The light in the woods is literally *chef's kiss* everything
7) The kettle is always on
8) We have beautiful optional creative outlets for quiet time
9) There will be flowers and nature everywhere
10) Our wooden roundhouse is cosy, shady, comforting, safe - all the things you need it to be
11) Yes. I do bring vases of flowers to the woods
12) See?!
13) And you will be super comfy wherever you chose to rest your weary head and heart

If you'd like to make that last place yours, head the to think in my bio

Circle last week. What potent, powerful magic. Warmed by the evening sun, gathered in my garden, around this altar of flowers, held by each other, by nature, by the earth, by circle. Beautiful, enormous, courageous hearts offering stories and truth with such grace and vulnerability, witnessed with compassion, curiosity and attention.

I was moved to hear that two of the women in our space had found the grounding power of circle to be a tonic for them in challenging months, a held, embodied memory of safety and support that they returned to when the overwhelm threatened to land too heavily.

While another woman arrived in our space after a difficult and emotional day, which she navigated by knowing she had this community of women to land in.

This moves me beyond measure - to know that the spaces we hold together reach their threads out wider than the 90 minutes we are together. That the medicine and the magic stays with us, a steady companion for our lives.

If you'd like to make a regular practice of circle you can join me once a month, on a Tuesday evening, to be held in this very special space. Sign up at the link in my bio

We're planning something really special for the summer edition of Ground & Gather - a shared feast together, under a canopy of trees; a women's circle held in a wild woodland glade; sunny afternoon hammock lazing; meditations standing barefoot on the earth; and a beautiful ritual that allows us to integrate and embody the simple, sacred power of being together in the woods.

These woodland retreats are becoming such nourishing and powerful days together, and we'd love for more women to experience the beauty of grounding and gathering in nature.

We're already half full, so head to the link in our bio to book your space - we'd absolutely love to have you with us.

I love this. The stories of others are the things that awaken truth within. They're what unlocks our hearts and reminds us that we are not alone. They are what connects us more deeply to the mythology of our lives and our lineage. Our stories deserve to be told, to be heard, to be witnessed. Not in a noisy space where everyone is competing for a voice - but in a beautifully held, safe, brave, courageous space that centres deep witnessing, trust, compassion and honouring. This is the space you'll find with me, in all my circles and retreats.

If you're feeling the need to be held and heard, with love, you can find out more at the link in my bio
