The Weekly Edit: REFORMER PILATES with .cora 🤎🌾

Welcome to the start of a new series, where each week one of our instructors will share a movement, teaching concept or class insight from across the TWELVE08 timetable.

Led by Cora, this week’s spotlight is all about layering in Reformer Pilates.

In our classes, progression isn’t a requirement - it’s an option. By layering movements, each participant can work at a level that feels right for them, while still moving together as a class.

We welcome all levels at the studio, so if you are worried about a class progressing too quickly, this is a reminder you can choose your own layer.

Cora currently hosts 6 classes at the studio, so I’m sure you will see her around regularly ✨

Why do we add weights to Pilates?

NEW SUMMER TIMETABLE ☀️ (starts W/C 15th June)

A few small changes are coming to the timetable, including a new lunchtime express class, an additional morning of classes and a couple of timetable shifts to better align with demand.

Using free weights and functional training movements, sessions combine strength exercises with short bursts of higher intensity work to create an efficient full-body workout.

New to reformer, or simply want to give it a try? 🤎🌾

Our two-week Reformer Pilates Beginners Workshop with is designed to help you build confidence and understanding on the reformer.

A more supported way to learn the machine, slow things down and become more connected to your movement with guidance throughout.

It’s also a great opportunity for those already enjoying our mat classes who are looking to transition onto the reformer and feel more confident using the machine.

‘Advanced’ students always present the same way…

✨They stop rushing through reps. Real control is found in slow movement - then you speed up.

✨ They no longer rely on momentum. No swinging, no compensating, just pure control.

✨They don’t hold their breath and realise your breath can make an exercise more intense.

✨They can make a simple exercise feel intense because good form is challenging.

✨ Lastly, they stop chasing intensity and focus on precision.

Keep doing what you’re doing and remember to listen to the cues. We give you the tools to become advanced in your practice. Slow things down and build a deeper awareness of your body!
