“Living With The Land” Taster Day 7th August - Teens 13-16

There’s not much out there that routinely supports teenagers to connect deeply to themselves, to others, and to the land.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been nudged, prompted if I’d offer something outdoors for teens and I’ve taken it as a sign. So here it is, the beginning of something I feel has been quietly waiting to emerge.

Starting with a taster session on Wednesday 7th August, 16:00–18:00, we’ll gather in the woodland space around The Roost for an afternoon of fire skills, practical tasks, shared learning and connection. If it feels right, this will grow into a regular offering.

This is a space where teens can build confidence and capability through hands on bushcraft and land-based skills:
foraging, food preserving, cordage making, water filtration, various styles of fire cooking, shelter building, knife and axe work, traditional crafts and more.

It will be practical, earthy, and empowering. A place to learn new skills, to stretch themselves safely, to work alongside others, and to connect with nature in a real and rooted way.

Sessions will be held by myself, an enthusiastic nature lover, qualified and experienced Forest School Leader, fully insured for bushcraft and tool use in a teaching capacity, DBS and outdoor first aid trained. I am aiming the learning towards high school age, and sessions are designed to be attended together by teen and parent/carer.

Cost for the taster is £15 plus a small booking fee, inclusive of refreshments, cooking and other resources.
