I came to therapy work through my own journey with trauma, ADHD, parenthood, and all the colourful eve
nts that life throws at you. I show up as me, hopefully someone you can relate to and feel comfortable with. I will never leave you lost, sitting in silence and feeling analysed. I have extensive experience working with adults coping with the challenges of ADHD in later life, and the anxiety and trauma that often go alongside. My ADHD clients described being nervous about fidgeting, rambling, and interpreting in sessions, sound familiar? I pride myself on being able to keep up with the fastest of talkers. You can swear and fidget to your heart's content, we can laugh and cry together, and hopefully work towards some real change. Shame dies when stories get told in safe places! My approach is integrative, and trauma-informed, which essentially means that I work from a toolbox of therapy techniques. This allows us to go at your pace and use the appropriate approaches for you and your unique personality. I am a warm, relatable person and my style of therapy is collaborative and gently challenging so I won’t just sit there in silence! There might even be a sprinkling of humour thrown in when appropriate. I remember what it was once like to be a client myself, so am aware of how nervous you might be.
