Creating Opportunities for Lone Parents to Thrive

At BlueSky CIC, we work with lone parents who are doing everything they can to build a better future for their families, but they are often doing it alone.

For many, the challenge isn’t motivation. It’s access.

Access to opportunities.

Access to guidance.

Access to someone who believes in their potential.

With the support of our funders, we’ve been able to change that.

Over the past year, we’ve worked closely with lone parents to help them move forward in meaningful ways. This has included supporting parents in starting their own businesses, connecting them with sustainable employment, guiding young people into apprenticeships, and providing dedicated life coaching to both parents and teens to rebuild confidence and create a clear sense of direction.

Alongside this, we have worked with organizations to secure donations, helping families access essential items and opportunities while removing some of the everyday pressures that can hold people back.

We are now building relationships with employers who are open to offering opportunities to lone parents ready to return to or progress in their careers. If this is something you or your organization can support, we would love to hear from you.

This work would not be possible without our funders. Their investment is more than just funding a project; it is creating real change in the lives of parents and young people who deserve the chance to thrive.

Not everything that heals will feel comfortable, sometimes growth sounds like:
“Maybe it’s not them, it’s your boundaries.”
“Maybe you’re not stuck… you’re scared.”
“Maybe peace is what it feels like when chaos stops.”
