Thinking of grabbing a coffee before your tattoo appointment? You might want to think twice...

That pre-tattoo coffee might not be the best idea.
Caffeine can increase your heart rate and make you feel more anxious, restless, or sensitive during your tattoo session. It can also make it harder to sit still for long periods.

Another reason to skip it? Caffeine can have a mild blood-thinning effect in some people. Increased bleeding during the tattoo process can make it more difficult for the artist to work efficiently and may affect how the ink settles in the skin.

For the best tattoo experience:
✅ Eat a good meal beforehand
✅ Stay well hydrated
✅ Get plenty of sleep
✅ Choose water over coffee or energy drinks before your appointment

A calm, hydrated body gives your tattoo the best chance to heal well and look its best.

This Saturday we are offering the opportunity to be part of a PhD research project!

We have an art exhibition in our gallery space, showcasing work aligned with this project about orientation, and offering a free tattoo in exchange for a form to be filled out about your experience. Each person will be assigned a number which will be tattooed, you can choose the placement (hand, wrist or fingers) and which way up it goes but the number you receive will be in a specific order. This will contribute significantly to PhD research and would be hugely appreciated if you take part.

We have a limited number of spaces so please get in touch asap to secure your place.
