About Us
Colchester Catalyst Charity, 14 Dedham Vale Business Centre, Manningtree Road, Dedham, Colchester, Essex CO7 6BL Tel 01206 323420 [email protected] Open Monday to Thursday

Colchester Catalyst Charity has been a grant making charity since 1990, following the sale of the former Colchester Oaks Hospital. At that time, the Charity resolved to devote its income from the invested funds of that sale to supporting the many caring organisations working for the relief of the sick or suffering in North East Essex. Specifically, Colchester Catalyst Charity seeks to help caring groups that provide services to people with medical conditions or disabilities living in North East Essex. While it is our intention to provide support where it will benefit the greatest number of people, selective help is given to individuals where needed.

We had the pleasure of watching Freedom Boat Adventures in action recently, which is a CIC we funded for £6,250 to take people with Special Needs on respite trips around Mersea Island and towards Osea Island, as well as around Radio Caroline.

They are doing an incredible job to support people in the local community and have raised a substantial amount of funds from other funders and sponsors to help even more people in the future.

On this particular trip, they helped people with Special Needs from the Mersea Island Festival.

My lovely visitor had a great time at Mabel hut with his friends recently. Having such a wonderful deck meant that Mike was able to use his power chair with ease.
