📚💙 Learning About Refugees at St Benedict’s Catholic Academy

Today, Adele visited St Benedict's Catholic Academy in Atherstone to deliver an inspiring assembly about refugees and the challenges many people face when seeking safety and a new life.

The assembly helped pupils gain a greater understanding of the experiences of refugees, encouraging empathy, compassion, and a deeper appreciation of the importance of welcoming those in need.

At Father Hudson’s Caritas, we are passionate about creating opportunities for young people to learn about social justice and the dignity of every person. We are grateful to St Benedict’s for the warm welcome and for engaging so thoughtfully with this important topic.

👏 It was wonderful to welcome Jugpreet from Balfour Beatty VINCI back to our Day Services this week to see the difference their volunteering has made.

Earlier this year, their team generously gave their time and skills to lay new tarmac, creating a safer and more accessible space for the people we support, as well as visitors and staff. Seeing first-hand how this improvement is being used every day was a great way to celebrate the lasting impact of corporate volunteering.

We were also delighted to meet Bella, a third-year journalism student who is writing an article about the project. We can't wait to read her story and see the positive impact of partnership and community support shared with a wider audience.
