Colne Osteopathy

Colne Osteopathy Hands on Health in Pendle. Detailed postural and osteopathic assessment, and manual treatment for a range of complaints.

The method involves careful assessment of pelvic rotation and restrictions. Patients are regularly given detailed but down to earth explanations of treatment options and the proposed causes of their symptoms both long and short term. This results in rapidly effective treatment often.

Here is a little video about one of the causes of neck/shoulder pain that people are reporting on waking. It will also make a trigger event more likely like "straining" your neck/shoulder when reaching into a cupboard because of a reduced range of motion.

This year has seen quite a change in what is described as "muscle pain".

Almost every patient seems to seek a mechanical cause for pain.

In my clinical experience, studies/research I have found with consistency that muscle joint and general aches and pains have components that are simply not explained by trigger events.

A trip and impact.
A twist
A lift
A breathing event like a week of coughing.
Teeth grinding
Sustained stressful/poor posture.

Not many people think about what has caused the tissues to be less adaptive, less flexible and slows healing and or immune response.

You could say "what are your barriers to recovery."

I have waxed lyrical about:

Magnesium and other trace minerals with out which nerve and enzymes are just-less efficient.
I have mentioned good oils, ointments and liniments to hundreds. ..and of course vitamins. particularly A B's, C.

How I wish people could see the difference that can be felt in the body by stopping completely of refined sugar, trans fats and bad oils so that the stomach, liver, gut could have a break.

Realising the methods of modulating important molecules (Nitric oxides, random oxygen species, peroxides) instead of imbuing the body with crazy levels of inflammatory foods and wondering why pain is triggered and maintained.

All I can do manually or with exercises is encourage a more refined flow and balance- which I am adept at, and can juggle symptoms really well..

For those who properly embrace the nutrients/detox methods we (the patient and I ) often see profound lasting changes.

Good Morning all,

I thought I would get to the world of the REAL...please see the video and have a look at the link below the video.

When people say they have a stiff neck its also a possibility I must consider as a Naturopathic Nutritionist and osteopath...even if the patient does not think its possible.

Remember we have a population nationally where people are travelling all over the place so if the person who just sat in your chair has been to say...South America, Asia, Africa...Is it credible to disregard the possibility of a parasite issue being part of the problem. I think it should be considered....

Dog walkers.....

Its a lovey warm/hot day so you go for a walk on the pavement.

NOW, barefoot on that HOT pavement....

How long can you last...?

Please think about your dog's PAWS...Don't wait for them to blister !!!

Horses, well not many will need to be reminded about water and shade for your bigger darlings...:)

Most people will miss the early signs of dehydration in themselves and others especially children.

Headache
Feeling lethargic or tired
Dry Mouth
Dizziness
Light headedness
Dark urine
Sunken eyes
weak thready rapid pulse
Muscle cramps
Sunken fontanelle ( top of head)
confusion.

BE WISE

Hydrate in the morning don't just rush for tea/coffee HYDRATE first those beverages can deplete tissue fluid.

For me this morning 1 Pint of mineral rich water
Later (mid morning) I will have more though large sips through the day can help.

Watermelon, mint, cucumber even cooled carrot/tomato soup.

Please do not rely on tea coffee caffeine drinks.

Fizzy pop is so sweet your body has to loose water to digest it...So that stuff is NOT hydrating...Orange juice will do the same thing very acidic and sweet.

Hydrate with electrolyte coconut water..diluted..:)

I could not resist posting this little message.

Vitamin's C and E can help preventing and treating sunburn.

If the skin is properly burned put a cream near but NOT ON the damaged tissue.

Aloe vera contains these vitamins.

Studies show my experience (anecdotal proves it to me) its worth a go.

Good Morning,

I came across an article the other day (failed to file it correctly) but it stated in its findings that people on the neurodivergent spectrum may burn magnesium at a higher rate metabolically .

I suspect this to be true based on patient feedback..

Therefore, if you are neurodivergent or know someone who is, I strongly recommend buying a magnesium spray and keeping it in the car or hand bag.

Spray on particularly before a crowded room situation and food - even just a coffee.

The metabolism that Magnesium can positively influence is vast.

I suspect it will help most people, just the neurodivergent more so.

It may seem obsessive of me but I assure you that the needs of magnesium are incredible and we may well see a change in the recommended dosage.

I ask patients all the time to use spray and green veg or supplement. ...Please don't dismiss this.
