Attending a diabetes education course is a very important part of learning how to self-manage your diabetes & avoid long term health complications – it’s free, paid for by the NHS and only lasts four hours!

Today marks the start of Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Week. The NHS Diabetes prevention Programme helps those at risk of developing type 2 diabetes make healthy lifestyle choices. So far, 17,000 people who have taken part in the programme have lost more than 55,000kg between them. That is the equivalent of 4 double decker buses!

Thank you to everybody who came to the North West Diabetes meeting on Tuesday and also to the Diabetic eye screening service who came out and did a talk.

If you are going away somewhere hot, keep your insulin in a bag that has a cooling agent, like a Frio pack.
