I was so proud of Beccy Jones yesterday. She was one of my first Business Midwife clients and now running all sorts of wellbeing sessions.

Yesterday, she was running a cooking class which was lots of fun as we met new faces, shared the cooking responsibilities and enjoyed tasting everything later.

Beccy was rocking her branded apron and sharing her nutrition knowledge whilst we were busy chopping etc.

Let’s Talk About Fear…

Whenever we start something new, fear always pops up. It whispers things like:

🤯 “What if I fail?”
🤯 “What if I’m not good enough?”
🤯 “What will people think?”

Sound familiar?

Here’s the thing: fear doesn’t mean stop. It just means you’re stepping into new territory and that’s exactly where the magic happens.

I like to think of it like giving birth (of course 😉). Pregnancy can be uncomfortable, labour is painful but something amazing is on its way.

Starting a business is the same. The wobbles, the doubts, the “who do I think I am?” moments they’re all part of the process and all very normal.

Courage isn’t about having no fear. It’s about taking the next step with the fear and proving to yourself that you’re stronger than you think.

So today, take one little action. Post that thing. Reach out to that person. Write down your idea. Tiny steps count.

Fear only gets quieter when you move forward and every step takes you closer to the business (and the life) you’ve been dreaming of.

Despite what my Facebook might suggest, my life isn’t all festivals, parties, and adventures... 😉

Shirl is a rare gem, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner specialising in Menopause and a gifted Yoga Teacher. With her deep knowledge, compassionate heart, and calming presence, she’s helping women move from overwhelm and frustration to confidence, strength, and inner peace.

This programme blends education, breathwork, movement, and community supporting women through every stage of menopause, and beyond.
