Hills I will die on as a fitness coach & mum 👇

And honestly, I wish I’d understood these things sooner.

Because for so many mums, fitness becomes another thing they feel they’re failing at.

They start.

They stop.

They feel guilty.

They promise themselves they’ll be more disciplined next time.

And eventually, they start believing that they are the problem.

But you don’t need to become more disciplined.

You need to stop measuring your success by how well you can stick to a plan designed for a life you don’t actually live.

Your life is messy.

You’re a mum.

You’re tired.

Things come up.

And your fitness plan needs to account for that.

Because I don’t want you to spend the next 10 years starting over every Monday.

I want you to build a relationship with exercise that lasts.

One where you can have a bad week without thinking you’ve ruined everything.

One where you can care about your health without feeling guilty.

One where your children grow up seeing that Mum takes care of herself too.

Because ultimately, you are someone outside of being “mum”, and she has needs too.

It’s about becoming stronger, healthier and more confident — and giving yourself the best chance of being the woman you want to be.

That’s a hill I’ll happily die on. ❤️

Which one are you most in agreement with?

You became a mum.

And somewhere along the way, your needs started coming last.

The baby needed you.
Your partner needed you.
The house needed you.
Work needed you.
Everyone else’s needs somehow became more important than your own.

So your workouts became “I’ll start Monday.”

Your nutrition became “I’ll sort myself out when things calm down.”

And every time you stopped, that little voice got louder:

“See? You never stick to anything.”
“You’re just not disciplined.”
“Maybe you’re the problem.”

But what if you’re not?

What if you were never lacking motivation, discipline or willpower?

What if you simply never had a plan that actually worked with your life as a mum?

You don’t need another extreme challenge.

You don’t need to eat perfectly.

You don’t need to train 6 days a week.

And you definitely don’t need to become someone else.

You need to learn how to make yourself a priority without feeling guilty for it.

To build strength.
To fuel your body.
To create consistency.
To have someone in your corner when life inevitably gets messy.

Because the goal isn’t to finally become the woman who never misses a workout.

It’s to become the woman who keeps coming back to herself.

The woman who feels strong, capable, attractive and proud of what her body can do.

And eventually, the voice saying “I’m not worth the effort” becomes quieter than the one saying:

“I know I can trust myself now.”

You were never the problem.

You just needed a different approach. 🤍

Save this post for the days you need reminding.

Whether you’re grateful to your parents for helping with childcare or you wish they felt able to do more, this is for you ❤️

I swear as mums our brains are wired to think more about ageing, what happens when we get old, will we be able to play with our grandchildren. I’m becoming so conscious of it and feel so grateful to my own mum and mother-in-law that they’re able to be so hands on with my kids. I hope I can do the same for mine one day 🥹💕

I think this might be the first and last time he runs with me 😬🙃

I had fun though x

The bad news is time passes anyway. The good news is you can choose what you do with it.

The washing will get done, the dishes will get cleaned. But your health isn’t guaranteed unless you choose to make yourself a priority.

You don’t need permission from anyone else. You just need permission from yourself and someone in your corner when life gets loud ✨

I will never be a mum who makes separate meals for her kids (sorry but who has time for that 😖)

So they’ll have what we’re having and I’ll just make an easy swap so I’m not adding an extra hour to my cooking time.

Hit save for some meal inspo when you’re doing your weekly shop x

That voice starts reminding you that the washing’s not done. The kitchen’s a mess. There’s stuff everywhere.

And there you are, trying to carve out 40 minutes for yourself, wondering if it’s even worth it.

I know that feeling. After my first baby, my needs quietly moved to the bottom of the list. Not because I stopped caring. Because every gap filled before I could claim it. And when I did try to do something for myself, the guilt sat right there with me the whole time.

Here’s what I know now.

That guilt isn’t telling you something’s wrong. It’s telling you that you’ve been last on your own list for so long that showing up for yourself feels unfamiliar.

It’s not selfishness. It’s evidence you’re overdue.

The women I work with don’t stop because they’re lazy or unfit. They stop because no one ever told them they were worth staying consistent for.

You are.

And you don’t need a perfect schedule, a free hour, or a reason good enough to justify it.

You just need a structure that works around your real life. And someone in your corner when it gets hard. So that when everything does pile up again, you can quieten that voice and be present in the moment, knowing you deserve that time.
