Have you heard of The Illusory Truth Effect?

Your brain is constantly absorbing information — not just from other people, but from your own internal dialogue.

Every repeated:

Thought
Emotion
Memory
Self-description

become part of the “evidence” your subconscious mind uses to build identity and expectation.

Hypnosis helps quiet the analytical, critical part of the mind for a moment, making repeated suggestions more emotionally accessible and easier to absorb.

Although change doesn’t come from a single session alone — it comes from an approach based on what happens in preparation and afterward through repetition, reinforcement, and daily internal language.

Because whether consciously or unconsciously, you are always “suggesting” things to yourself:

* “I can’t cope.”
* “I’m always anxious.”
* “I never follow through.”
* “Things never work out for me.”

When these thoughts are repeated often enough, the brain starts treating them as familiar truths. Neural pathways strengthen around them.
Emotional reactions become automatic.
Identity forms around repeated inner narratives.

That’s why lasting change requires attention to:

* the language you repeatedly use internally
* the emotional meaning attached to those thoughts
* the stories you rehearse about yourself
* and the behaviours that reinforce them

You may have a desire to change but by changing nothing about these prerequisites, and reinforcing the language and content, you’re actually using them as drivers in your daily life… propelling the narrative you’re trying to desperately to change.

Hypnosis can open the door to change by interrupting old patterns and introducing new suggestions, but long-term transformation is usually built through consistent internal reinforcement:

* conscious self-talk
* repetition of healthier beliefs
* emotional regulation
* embodied action
* and environments that support the new narrative

In other words:
Your subconscious listens to repetition more than intention.

The mind gradually becomes what it repeatedly hears — especially from itself.

This is something I explore more in my workshops and - it’s powerful!

Pressotherapy vs Manual Lymphatic Drainage

“Do you offer pressotherapy?”
The answer is no — here’s why.

While pressotherapy can support circulation and fluid movement through compression technology, I personally believe that hands-on Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLDM) remains the gold standard of care.

Why?

Because no machine can truly assess, adapt, and respond to the body in the way a trained therapist can.

💆‍♀️ Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a gentle, specialised hands-on treatment that works with the body’s lymphatic system for:

• Fluid retention and swelling
• Inflammation
• Post-surgery recovery
• Stress and nervous system regulation
• Detoxification and circulation
• Overall wellbeing and relaxation

Every session is tailored specifically to YOU.

As therapists, we can feel areas of congestion, tension, inflammation, sensitivity, scar tissue, and holding patterns within the body — adjusting pressure, direction, and technique moment by moment.

I often will change my MLDM toolkit: I may work harder on a particular area in a session, use a variety of tools from wooden gua sha, brushes and rolling tools, or sometimes, cupping to promote fluid movement.

A machine simply cannot replicate that level of intuition, care, and personalised treatment.

For me, this treatment is not just about moving fluid.
It’s about creating safety within the nervous system, and offering genuine human connection through therapeutic touch 🤍

That is why I choose to offer Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage rather than pressotherapy.

🌍 In a world where so much is becoming automated, digital, and machine-led, I believe there is something deeply important about staying grounded in genuine human connection and therapeutic touch.

I’ve had messages from ladies with a very similar theme over the past two weeks - so I feel it right to talk about the subject and offer a solution to others feeling the same 🤍

A little reminder for the women who really want a treatment,
but feel incredibly self conscious about their bodies.

If the thought of getting undressed, being looked at, or feeling exposed stops you from booking something for yourself — you are not alone.

I speak to so many women who feel this way. It’s easy for me to say ‘don’t worry’ but I also understand having a fear isn’t as easy as being told ‘it’s okay’ ..

With that in mind I’ll always:

Try my best to make the environment feel comfortable and safe; softer sensory lighting, a calm atmosphere.
Offer the pager system so you can get changed with privacy and confidence in mind.

But please know, if you’re still not ready for that, there are gentle treatment options that don’t require you to step too far outside your comfort zone.

Reiki and Chakra Balancing with Biofield Tuning using tuning forks can both be done fully clothed.

Tui Na massage is traditionally performed clothed too, using rhythmic techniques to help release tension, regulate the nervous system and restore balance.

I also offer treatments like Foot Reflexology or Indian Head Massage in a seated position for those wanting support in a way that feels safer and more comfortable.

No pressure.
Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is allow yourself to be supported exactly as you are.

Once he’s finished my endless to do list,.. he’s finally going to have more time to get stuck into his restoration project.

Until then he may just go out to sit in the car to escape my constant nagging, endless jobs or just to decompress and smell the feu orange 🍊 car freshener for some retro nostalgia 😅
