A refusal can feel really disappointing, but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the end of the road.

If we're supporting you with your Access to Work application, we'll look at the decision and work out what the next steps are.

That might mean going back to Access to Work for more information, looking at why the support has been refused, providing further evidence or asking them to reconsider their decision.

And importantly, we handle that process with you.

You're not left trying to work out who to contact, what to say or how to challenge the decision on your own.

We can't promise that every decision will be changed, but we can make sure we've done what we can to explain why the support is needed and challenge a decision where we feel it's appropriate.

Because sometimes a "no" really just means not yet. 💜

If you're thinking about applying for Access to Work and aren't sure where to start, get in touch and have a chat with us.

We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer. 💜

Creating an inclusive workplace isn't about ticking a box; it's making sure people feel valued, supported and able to be themselves at work.

This Is Me is an organisation that supports disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill people every day, so we know how much the right support and understanding can make a difference.

Being a Disability Confident Employer reflects the values we try to live by, both for our team and for the people we support.

There's always more to learn, and we're committed to continuing that journey.

At This is Me, we know how much decisions around benefits and support can affect people’s everyday lives, independence and ability to participate.

If you have experience of applying for or receiving PIP, this is an opportunity to make sure lived experience is part of the conversation about what comes next.

Have your say on the future of PIP

The government’s review of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is moving into its next stage — and disabled people and people with long-term health conditions are being invited to help shape the recommendations.

During September and October 2026, 15 workshops will take place online and in person across the UK.

These aren’t just workshops to share experiences. Participants will be asked to discuss, test and refine the Review’s emerging recommendations before its final report is published in Autumn 2026.

💬 The Review has already heard from more than 38,000 people, with many describing the PIP assessment and decision-making process as stressful and dehumanising.

Now there is another opportunity for lived experience to influence what happens next.

The workshops are primarily for disabled people and people living with long-term health conditions, and you do not need any previous experience of engaging with government consultations or reviews to take part.

📅 Registration opens: Wednesday 12 August at 10am
📅 Registration closes: Friday 21 August at 5pm
📩 Selected participants will be contacted by 4 September.

Participants will be selected randomly, with the steering group checking that the final group represents a balanced range of experiences and characteristics.

Please share this with anyone in your network who may want their voice to be heard. 💜

Thank you for taking the time to complete this form.   This form is for you to express your interest in joining a workshop and to help ensure that the Review hears from people with a range of lived experience, expertise and diverse characteristics. The Review would like to hear from people...
