When I get time I want to post about some of my favourite homeopathic remedies. First up is Buddleia Davidii, what is commonly known as the butterfly bush🦋. It has blossomed beautifully in the garden over the last couple of weeks 🥰There are over 110 species of this beautiful plant and the butterfly is indicative of transformation. After World War 2 it was found growing in London amongst the rubble of the bombings. It shows a resilience of growing and blossoming in the most difficult of circumstances.
As a homeopathic remedy, it treats-
• shock, trauma
• instils peace and calm
• the nervous system
• fears and alienation
• feeling of everything crumbling around you
• lack of boundaries
• hypersensitivity
• those alienated from family or feel they can't speak ill of family, despite their pain

Whether it's an acute condition or chronic, homeopathy can help!
Homeopathy works on the basis of like treats like in order to stimulate the body's natural healing ability to kick in and do what it needs to do. Eg Apis derived from the honey bee may be suitable for stings.

A wee health insurance reminder 🥰

A wee reminder that if you have health insurance, depending on the company and your cover, you may be able to claim back the full cost of your treatments. It may be a case of use it or lose it as so many forget what their plans cover. Therapies that are often covered- reflexology, massage, reiki and of course homeopathy!
Companies such as Westfield, health shield, bupa, vitality, Aviva often have an allowance for therapies.
As a registered therapist there is no problem in issuing you a receipt so you can claim back from your health insurance. If you have health insurance check it out and send through a wee message if you'd like to book. Thank you🥰💜.

Taking medication? Finding the heat unbearable? Please read. 🙏💜
What lovely weather we are having but for those on medication or ladies experiencing menopause it can be difficult to manage.
Antidepressants (such as SSRIs and TCAs) and metformin combined with hot weather drastically increase your risk of severe dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. Together, these medications interfere with your hypothalamus (the body's thermostat) and increase natural fluid losses.Specific side effects and interactions include:Excessive Sweating: Many antidepressants (like SSRIs) frequently trigger hyperhidrosis, which depletes your body's water and sodium levels.Impaired Cooling: Certain mental health drugs disrupt the body’s ability to sweat normally or regulate internal core temperatures, making you overheat far more quickly.
Masked Dehydration Symptoms: Metformin can heighten dehydration risks and its common gastrointestinal side effects (like nausea or diarrhea) worsen fluid loss in hot weather, making it difficult to differentiate mild heat sickness from standard medication side effects.
Photosensitivity: Antidepressants can make your skin highly sensitive to UV rays, leading to severe, blistering sunburns even with brief exposure. Individuals may feel like they want to scratch continually and that nothing relieves the itch or feeling of internally burning. This can partially be due to reduction of oxygen to the blood cells and the effects of medication in the heat.

Do not despair- as a qualified and registered homeopath I've been using a combination of remedies with clients and family members affected by the heat. All of them on various forms of medication. Result - symptoms lessening, able to go out in the lovely weather, no itching, more tolerance to the heat, perspiration more regulated. Homeopathy is completely safe to use even when on medication, you simply take your remedies at a different time.
They are also very good for anyone to help our body utilise water and maintain a healthy fluid balance in our bodies during heatwaves.

Hi lovelies, I was asked this week if I'd consider a followup to the introduction to homeopathy. This would be for those who have already attended the homeopathy for first aid/ acute conditions where we would do a short recap and then look at another 18/20 remedies, some of the combination remedies, conditions where alternating remedies may support etc. if you have already attended the initial one day workshop and want to learn about more comment below or send me a dm and if enough are interested, I'll look into running it over the summer.
