Do you feel a stretch in other areas ?
It makes sense!
Your muscles don’t work on their own. They’re connected by a strong layer of connective tissue called fascia.
Think of it like a bed sheet. If you pull one corner, you’ll feel that tension across the rest of the sheet too.
A client came in recently with tight legs. As we worked on releasing the hamstrings and adductors, they actually felt the stretch more through their lower back than in the muscles we were targeting.
That’s because the muscles in the legs and the tissues in the back are all connected, so the tension travelled up that chain. And this is much more common than you think.
It’s also why I don’t just treat the area that’s painful.
The place that hurts is often the symptom, not the root cause. Finding where that tension starts is what makes the difference
As a Stretch Therapy practitioner, these sessions are guided by you and what your body tells me. Together, we will ensure your body is not overcompensating in other areas!
