ore Strength Vinyasa Yoga ® (CSV®) 300hr Teacher

CSV® (created by American Sadie Nardini) is a fresh, modern & non-linear approach to yoga that is intuitive as well as great fun. CSV® uses next generation anatomy, biomechanics, physics, myofascial muscle meridian system and fitness. CSV® includes a system called the '4 foundations' and the 'wave' to direct energy up and along the deep core line of the body to improve the effectiveness into transitions and postures, and to express more fully with ease and invite more space into the body. CSV® isn't a 'one size fits all' as it allows for different body shapes and sizes to benefit. Poses and transitions can be modified or intensified depending on the the levels of fitness, age and ability of a student who is then encouraged to navigate what helps their body feel fully supported. A great emphasis of the class is to release outer body tightness . This is achieved in the way of strengthening along the whole body core and helping to rebalance a relationship between muscle fascia and joints. CSV® utilises the most effective breath method that will help to release and support in movement, strengthening the core and releasing any unwanted blocked energy to flow more freely. CSV® moves away from the predictable and the linear patterns of traditional yoga and instead embraces movement that is intuitive, joyous and sets us free to flourish. You literally can't get anything 'wrong' as you are encouraged to move in your own way to the own rhythm of your breath and body. When practiced regularly, this system can revolutionise our sense of movement, space and awareness, not just on the mat but in everyday life also. By applying the 4 foundations that are key to this practice you can expect to get stronger, more agile, improve mobility, less aches and pains, increased fitness levels, a release of feel good endorphins and a more harmonious and happy nervous system.

🌟The CSV® method I teach weaves itself into all of my offerings from stronger classes to the more gentle restorative/somatic practices. For more information on local classes/workshops and questions, please message me.

Ah the seasons..the in between 🌞🌻🍁🍁🍁

If like me you carry the weight of the world in your hearts and belly. Sensitives who are easily disrupted by any kind of physical or emotional upheavals…I find a soothing tea of cumin, coriander and fennel & ginger really helps.

A soothing balm inspired and rooted in traditional by Ayurvedic philosophy. Something I am loving and exploring more of 🥰

Don’t drink it hot…sip it slowly…pause..gentle breath.

My perfect companion to embodied mindful yoga & somatic movements ❤️✨❤️

🙌Today my body asked for something more heated & spicy!🙌

This was sped up a little.

✨A short sequence that moves you completely from Earth to centre. Ground reaction forces through 🦶 feet with energy rising upwards and bent limbs.

A lot of prep work to GROUND & SOFTEN too!

Can be modified for most bodies to feel the added buoyancy effect. 👍

✨Really effective especially for women’s bodies.🤩

Allows space for spine, pelvis, knees where linear yoga sequencing can sometimes feel a little awkward, sometimes aggressive and masculine in nature.

Moving with fluidity and inner strength 💪

✨I return to CSV ( Core Strength Vinyasa ™️) time and time again. It’s taught me an incredible amount .

👌Excellent for DETOXING via breath
👌Lifts mood
👍Hydrates tissue
👍Awakens the core without ’the gripping’
👍Pumps Lymph and increases circulation
….brings great strength from the inside out

Can be adapted, modified making it so easeful too. 🥰🥰🥰

What makes it SO special is that you can make it unique to your body shape, life story and where you are now. So much adaptability within a vinyasa practice. 🥰✨

Create space not punishment 🙏

When we grip, tighten our belly and spines ( brace) in our movements , and reactions and past stories this has a profound effect on every part of our existence.

To list the diseases that come from this place are complex. . But there is so much we can do 🙌

For years I tightened jaw, belly, spine in search of perfection and performance.

These days I take more time to listen and lean into micro movements, fluidity and natural movement to support what my body needs more of. Especially now as I am older.

This doesn’t mean I go at snails pace every day, I enjoy heated practices that work my body too.

However, I know the consequences of going beyond my capabilities. This is something many of us bypass.

Each day brings new insights ✨.

✨A little lentil & quinoa lunch✨ with courgette & spinach.

🤷‍♀️They say ‘eat chicken’ make tons of nutritious salads, icy green smoothies. Yes..I love these but my body doesn’t all the time. I need warming foods mainly due to my medicinal needs…so here is my Ayurvedic lunch. Packed with antioxidants and anti inflammatory spices. No chilli! And a good plant protein. The season’s are slowly changing. 🥰

I think we forget the softness and listening in. Moving meditations and creating waves and spirals are something my midlife body craves when my musculoskeletal imbalances take there toll.

It’s not all about lifting heavy in midlife and I’ve had to take this out to heal.

It’s whether your body can recoil and recover, can feel it’s way without relying on instructions, stay fluid and receive the right amount of energy from the Earth. Breathe fully to expand from the centre to the periphery. Moving with buoyancy & softeness that provides a different kind of sensation of strength within.

I’ve been learning a lot about my body the last two years..and layer by layer it reveals the secrets of the unfolding. Only if I respect my boundaries and release what I’m meant to look like. It’s pure joy, lubricant on my sore body and it reveals the good, bad and ugly too.

🥰✨

✨Grounding- Sensing - Slowing down.✨

Many of us have forgotten this way of moving.

This is a window into a small part of how I approach movement. After years of hard fitness, complex births, and just good old life baggage it’s as though midlife has well and truly caught up!

This is my moving medicine and orienting away from linear ways of existence. An yoga-dance inspired flow to heal and calm the nervous system.

Musculoskeletal syndrome is kicking hard these days and I honour boundaries when my body is communicating with me. Something I pushed through years ago and ignored.

There is no end goal, perfection, sets, reps or rules of alignment. Just moving from the inside out , totally from the core with whatever shows up through the layers.

In Yoga we call this the Koshas. Our physical and subtle body layers, breath, heart and nervous system By moving from the centre out to soft arms and fingers, the periphery we can & telax the belly instead of tightening and gripping and striving. Energy transfer from foot to crown can communicate. 👍🙌✨

Enhancing proprioceptin and inner awareness to calm an exhausted system that’s in high activation mode can dial down inflammation.

No pressure, performance..just playful awareness to bring joy back into our body 🥰🥰🥰

"But most people live from a different space…

From expectation.
From frustration.
From “I want, I need, I deserve.”

And all of this creates inner disturbance."

IT IS GOOD TO HEAR THIS!
Too many awful things going on in the world I have NO WORDS!

We have forgotten why we are here!! Please listen.🙏

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted anything. 😀

Stepping away from teaching Yoga classes for the last two years has been the most unexpected gift.
It has given me space and time to fully focus on my family, home educating my son, and getting back to what truly moves ME.

Music and movement has always been a massive part of my life, and lately, my own private movement practice at home has completely evolved around experimenting with music.

Instead of standard yoga sequencing, I’ve been playing with my own blend of slow, fluid, low-impact choreography that is completely somatic.

For me, it is less about "fitness, perfection, alignment and performance" and much more about intuitive movement.

I've been experimenting with different music and dance, inspired around heavy bass sounds and liquid smooth textures of 90s trip hop (like Portishead), and other music styles that evoke tranquility and a deep connection and nostalgia.
No spa music here either 😜. Experimenting with just lightness, mobility, weight shift and sustained time.

To be clear, this isn't high-energy high brow fluff, or ecstatic dance or unguided flailing. It is just my own deeply grounded, pragmatic way of moving—structured, yet allowing a lot of freedom while remaining slow-motion and low-impact to be gentle on the joints.

In my 50's I’m realising this style of mindful pacing is exactly what many women’s bodies need in midlife right now!

We hear so much about bone density and lifting weights and those can be important and totally necessary for many. BUT women are so much more than just that. We can't get obsessed by it...and I too have questioned 'am i doing enough' considering my background was initially Fitness teaching.

Sometimes, what we actually need is a quiet space for the brain, body, eyes, senses creating a different pathway, a way to lubricate our connective tissue, unravel tightness, and a major, much-needed shift to help alleviate sore ligaments via slow conscious movement without jumping about all the time. It doesn't have to be like that..

We need movement that actually supports us, sustains us and and that doesn't burn us out if we are already juggling heavy loads!

I’m not rushing back into anything, but I am thoroughly enjoying developing these concepts in my own unique lane.

Maybe this won't amount to anything in the future .. BUT WOW it has been so much fun creating movements to music again. Experimenting and playing and just letting myself feel and not worry if it is right, wrong, aligned and all the other BS we get slammed into us continually....its exhausting!

We aren't machines...never were...never will be!

This type of movement feels healing and long lasting.

Keep watching....🎧✨
