Plot twist: you don’t have to put your life on hold to lose weight. 🍸

You can still go out.
You can still have the cocktail.
You can still enjoy meals out, weekends away, birthdays, weddings and everything else life throws at you.

Because there will always be something coming up.

And if you keep waiting for the perfect time when there’s nothing in the diary, no temptations and life is completely calm… you could be waiting a very long time. 🫣

September is actually one of my favourite times for a fresh start. The kids are back at school, routines are returning and we still have almost FOUR months left of this year.

And I know better than most just how much can change in four months.

I lost 4 stone in 4 months.
That was 10 years ago, and that one decision to start completely changed my life. 🥹

Your four months don’t have to look anything like mine. Your goal might be completely different.

But imagine getting to January knowing you used those months instead of waiting for them to pass.

Not through being perfect.
Not by cancelling your social life.
Just by starting.

Don’t get to January wishing you’d started in September.

If weight loss has been on your mind, comment START or send me a message and we can have a chat about what that could look like for you 🫶🏼

Maybe this time doesn’t need to be another “diet”.

Maybe you don’t need to promise yourself you’ll be perfect from Monday.
No meals out. No alcohol. No missed workouts. No bad days. No weekends “off plan”.

Because life is going to happen.

There’ll be birthdays. Weekends away. Meals out. School runs. Work. Kids. Hormones. Days when you’re absolutely smashing it… and days when you really bloody aren’t 🫠

The difference this time?

Don’t quit.

One meal doesn’t undo your progress.
One weekend doesn’t undo your progress.
One bad day certainly doesn’t mean you need to wait until next Monday to start again.

You don’t need to be perfect to lose weight.

You need to learn how to keep going when it isn’t perfect.

And after almost 10 years of maintaining my own 4 stone loss, I can tell you THAT has been far more important than any “perfect” week ever was.

Dolly knows 🥰

Save this one for the next time your brain tells you you’ve “blown it”.

Anyone else feel this?! 😂🍂

There’s just something about September that feels like a fresh start.

Seven weeks of the kids being home, holidays, days out, later nights, meals on the go, drinks in the sunshine and absolutely NO idea what day of the week it is 😂☀️

And I’ve loved it.

But I am SO ready for routine again.

And not because I need to “undo” summer or punish myself for enjoying it.

I don’t.

Summer was there to be enjoyed.

For me, September is about getting back to the things that make me feel good again.

Moving my body.
Drinking more water.
Planning my meals.
Getting some structure back.
Making better choices MOST of the time.
And actually having a little bit of time for ME again. 🙌🏼

No ridiculous restrictions.
No “I need to lose X amount by Christmas.”
No trying to undo 7 weeks in 7 days.

Just getting back into a routine that makes me feel like ME.

And if your summer looked a little more 🍹🍕🍦 than 🥗🏋🏻‍♀️💧… welcome to the club 😂

Today is a new month.

You don’t need to wait until Monday.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You can just start.

And if September is YOUR month to get back to you and you’d like some help doing it, my messages are always open. 🍂

Happy New Year, mums 😂🥂

First Monday back after two weeks on holiday… and I can confirm I did NOT bounce out of bed excited for my alarm this morning 😂

I wanted the lie-in.

I could quite happily have stayed in bed with a coffee, skipped the gym, grabbed something easy for breakfast, had a McDonald’s when I got the kids one and told myself I’d “start tomorrow”.

And honestly? None of those things would have been the end of the world.

I’ve just had an amazing holiday. I ate the food, drank the drinks, relaxed, made memories and enjoyed every bit of it. And I don’t regret any of it.

But I also know myself.

I know how quickly “I’ll start tomorrow” can become another tomorrow… and another.

And I know that the longer I leave it, the harder getting back into my usual routine feels.

So today I did the things I didn’t necessarily feel like doing.

I got up.
I went to the gym.
I drank my water.
I tracked my food.
I made choices that I know make me feel good.

Not because I need to punish myself for my holiday.

Not because I need to “undo” anything.

But because there’s a time for switching off and enjoying yourself… and there’s a time for recognising that you’re ready to get back to the habits that make you feel like YOU again.

Today I didn’t need to be perfect.

I didn’t need to wait until next Monday.

I just needed to make the first few choices that moved me back towards feeling like myself again 🫶🏼

10 years ago I thought weight loss was about the BIG moments.

Starting the diet.
Seeing a big loss.
Hitting the next stone.
Getting to goal.

10 years later, I know the bit that actually changed my life was everything that happened in between.

The completely unremarkable Wednesdays.

The meals nobody saw.
The choices that didn’t deserve a round of applause.
The times I caught a small weight gain instead of letting it become a big one.
The times I went back to what I knew worked without turning it into another dramatic “STARTING AGAIN MONDAY”.

That’s the stuff.

Because one good day won’t transform your life.

And one off-plan day won’t ruin it either.

It’s what you do most of the time, for a long time, that eventually becomes your normal.

And normal doesn’t always feel exciting while you’re living it.

But zoom out?

That’s where you see what all those boring little choices built 🫶🏼
