Oh my goodness, I am completely overwhelmed and so surprised to have been nominated for this award.

To whoever took the time to nominate me and write such lovely words, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It truly means so much to know that the work I do has had a positive impact on others.

I feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a supportive community and to have the opportunity to do something I genuinely care about every day. Thank you again for your kindness, encouragement, and belief in me. ❤️

Looking for a welcoming, understanding space where children with special educational needs and disabilities can play, explore and make friends?

Our sessions provide a relaxed, supportive environment with a variety of activities tailored to children’s individual needs, including:

✨ Sensory play
✨ Playdough and creative activities
✨ Small world and imaginative play
✨ Quiet spaces
✨ Toys, games and social opportunities
✨ A chance for parents and carers to connect with others who understand

Whether your child enjoys getting hands-on with sensory trays, exploring new activities, or simply playing at their own pace, everyone is welcome.

This Sundays Play Group will be 10-12 Demesnes Barnard Castle

🎪✨ SATURDAY FUN! ✨🎪

Our SEND bouncing disco will be at The Demesnes in Barnard Castle, running from 2–4pm, but we’re welcome to stay and enjoy the atmosphere all evening! There’ll be:

💥 Trampettes
⚽ Physio balls
🌀 Spinners
🎶 Music
…and plenty more sensory fun!

There’s also:

🎤 Live music until 8pm
🍔 Street food
🍹 Bar open to the public
🛝 Play park in the field
🎠 Toddler fairground rides (there were some there last year too!)

For the adrenaline seekers 🎢 there’s also a fairground in the Morrisons car park — I’ll be there with Jay from 12pm if anyone wants to meet up 😊

🌟 SUNDAY STAY & PLAY 🌟
Stay & Play at the Witham will still be on as usual 🤩

🚗 Please note: the car park will be inaccessible due to the fairground. If you park on the front street, I’ll be opening the front door 😊

Our SEND marquee session is going to be packed with fun! 🎉

We’ll have Andrew Nicholson hosting a quiet disco, plus lots of sensory equipment, calming lights, and interactive activities for the children to enjoy.

While the children explore and have fun, parents can relax and enjoy the celebrations happening on the Demesnes too.

We’re also hoping to have some small fairground rides for the children to enjoy, making it a really special day for everyone.

We’re proud to be welcoming Teesdale SEND Stars to this year’s event — a fantastic local non-profit organisation supporting children with SEND and their families 💛

For 2026, they’ll be hosting a special 2-hour session on the Demesnes in our small marquee, offering a safe, calm, and welcoming space for children to enjoy sensory play, activities, and time to connect.

🕑 Saturday 23rd May
⏰ 2:00PM – 4:00PM
📍 Lower Demesnes (Small Marquee)

Their sessions are always designed to be inclusive, relaxed, and supportive, creating an environment where children can explore, play, and thrive at their own pace.
