Flu can spread quickly among children at school and can make some children seriously unwell. Getting your child vaccinated at a community pharmacy helps protect them from flu and can also reduce the spread of the virus to their family, friends and wider community. If your child is eligible, look out for information from their school about their flu vaccination this winter.

Congratulations to Dr Sophia McCann, Counselling Psychologist across Quinton Ward, Edgewick Ward and Hearsall Ward, on being named our Adult Mental Health Employee of the Month πŸŽ‰

Sophia was nominated after supporting a patient to turn their passion for learning into an opportunity for recovery and peer support.

The patient co-delivered a psychoeducation group on the ward with Sophia after researching and creating a session plan and materials. The result was meaningful patient involvement, helping build confidence, develop new skills and make a valuable contribution to the therapeutic environment.

Sophia's encouragement and support created a space for lived experience, learning and recovery, inspiring both patients and colleagues alike. Thank you to Sophia for your compassion and commitment!

"When we're listening together, I feel more like myself."

Music, memories and connection are making a real difference for patients on our older adult inpatient wards.

What started as one patient's idea has grown into a thriving music appreciation group, helping patients reconnect with memories, build friendships and experience moments of joy through music.

This is co-production at its best, with patients and staff working together to create activities that support wellbeing and recovery.

It was fantastic to welcome patients, carers and clinicians at the Caludon Centre yesterday for a community networking event, hosted by REACH Mental Health Alliance and our Patient Flow Team!

The event brought together organisations from across the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector, showcasing the wide range of support available across Coventry and Warwickshire, from mental health and wellbeing support to housing, employment and community connection.

"Events like this help us build stronger partnerships and make it easier for people to find the right support in their communities." – Nicola Hall, REACH Mental Health Alliance

Our people make a difference every day, and our Values in Action nominees are a great example of this!

Chief Executive Officer, Mary Mumvuri MBE, recently met with some of last quarter's nominees to celebrate their achievements and hear more about the impact they are making for patients and their families/carers, and colleagues.

The scheme recognises staff who demonstrate our core values of Compassion, Respect, Excellence, Collaboration, and Integrity and an impressive 201 staff members received a Values in Action last quarter. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to nominate a colleague and help us recognise and celebrate great work across the Trust. πŸ’™
