I reckon I will always hate doing cardio.
I never enjoyed it as a kid or teen, and still today, even though I do different forms of it 2-3 times per week, I won't ever tell you I enjoy it.
It's just boring as f*ck to me.
It's no surprise that I enjoyed sprints, sports, and even used to enjoy CrossFit too. The variance in my training and activities is what I felt I needed.
It's why now, when I programme for myself, I make sure I hit a fair amount of markers to keep that variance.
⬆️Plyometrics🏃♂️Sprints🚀Power development💪Broad upper and lower strength🫁Continuous aerobic work (begrudgingly)⚙️VO2 Max work🔧Accessories to address what I'm s**t at🆕New movements to challenge me mentally and physically
Believe it or not, all of this gets done within my week's training. And it's what has led me to believe I've created the best all-round programme going.
4-5 years of trial and error. Playing with different efforts on different days. Combining lifts. Increasing or lowering volume week by week. Recognising what's fatigued so I can swap in something less demanding.
My own training (as selfish as it started) has now got me to the point where I genuinely believe it could be the best programme for others too.
I'd call myself a generalist when it comes to what people need to improve. Because it always comes back to the physical foundations you need to function 90% of the time.
The other 10% is saved for the real specifics: sport, physical challenges, whatever your thing is.
And that's exactly what my programme covers.
The 90% of what you need to live a high-quality, highly capable, painless, limitless life.
It's coming soon 👀
