Everybody else’s grass looks better than yours because you have never done what is necessary to grow your own.

It’s takes discipline to grow.

But I promise you will never be as grateful as you would growing your own.

Step 1: Build a System

- Don’t rely on energy and motivation to get things done.
- Structure workouts like a meeting in your diary
- Systemise workouts like a meeting agenda

> WHAT is the workout
> WHERE am I training
> WHEN am I training

Step 2: Optimise System for Real Life

- Expect that your day will not go to plan.
- Prepare a fail safe Plan B, C, D to fall back on.
- Optimise the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN of your system

> WHO > A: Me & Mrs B, D: Me C: Me & kids
> WHAT > 30min Bodyweight
> WHERE > Shed or Living room
> WHEN > A: 6am B: 1pm C: 5pm D: 6am (+1)

Step 3: Control Your Identity

- High performers don’t rely on motivation to deliver on promises and outcomes.
- They create systems to remove emotion from the decision making process.
- The decision has already been made. The work just needs done.
- Do you say what you mean, and do what you say?

Let this sink in 🔻

75% of the time you will ever spend with your child is complete by the time they reach 12 years old.

Or as my daddy used to say… “It’s all a blink.”

Look at it this way:
The only people who remember that you’ve worked late are your kids.

🚨 Let this be a reminder that the noise in the back of the car will be quiet soon enough.

So step back and embrace these precious moments with your kids.... Because one day soon their childhood will be over.

Men (dad’s/daddy’s) and Women (mum’s/mummy’s) need exercise and good nutrition to decompress, let off steam and manage stress… because without it we get lost in the haze of it all - Life, work, business, keeping house…

Without it; we quickly become irritable, frustrated and overwhelmed.

I urge any parent reading this that is struggling to be present with their kids to recognise the importance of their own self care - looking after yourself 1st.

If you can take control this, you’ll soon realise how much more physical and mental energy you have to give back to your family!

And if you feel stuck? It’s OK. It’s normal in fact.

This still gets me every time…

You may think I have done a lot or do a lot… but I’m just the same as you.

I still don’t feel motivated…

I still couldn’t be arsed doing the things I know I should be doing…

And yet everytime o just start… a little while later down the road the rewards make stating worthwhile.

Remember done is better than perfect and you have to start in order to begin in anything in life.
