Step 1: Build a System
- Don’t rely on energy and motivation to get things done.
- Structure workouts like a meeting in your diary
- Systemise workouts like a meeting agenda
> WHO is training
> WHAT is the workout
> WHERE am I training
> WHEN am I training
Step 2: Optimise System for Real Life
- Expect that your day will not go to plan.
- Prepare a fail safe Plan B, C, D to fall back on.
- Optimise the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN of your system
> WHO > A: Me & Mrs B, D: Me C: Me & kids
> WHAT > 30min Bodyweight
> WHERE > Shed or Living room
> WHEN > A: 6am B: 1pm C: 5pm D: 6am (+1)
Step 3: Control Your Identity
- High performers don’t rely on motivation to deliver on promises and outcomes.
- They create systems to remove emotion from the decision making process.
- The decision has already been made. The work just needs done.
- Do you say what you mean, and do what you say?
- You behave your way to success by ‘being’ the person you want to be.
Step 4: Forget What You Think You Know
- You don’t need more time, more effort or more information
- You need a system designed for your life delivering efficiency
- A system that gives you the daily minimum effective dose
- A system built for unpredictable schedules
- A system that adapts when life gets busy and removes decision-making completely
