📍 Laurencetown Community Centre

Join us for an evening of music, games, food and Halloween fun!

For adults aged 18 and over with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs. Everyone is welcome, including Connect attendees and non-attendees. 🧡

🎟️ No entry fee!
🍬 Halloween sweets and treats will be available to buy, with funds raised going towards our residential trip next year.

Come along and enjoy a spooktacular evening! 🎃🕸️

Everyone is starting to feel more comfortable and settled, and it’s been lovely watching friendships begin to form and seeing everyone get stuck into the different activities.

Our second full week at Connect 💙

I honestly can’t believe how quickly the time is flying! 🥹 I feel so lucky to be doing something I love and watching this little dream become a reality.
I’m so grateful for our amazing team, who bring so much care, kindness and heart to everything they do. 💙
We haven’t taken many pictures this week because we’ve been busy getting to know everyone, joining in with activities and enjoying lots of lovely moments together. Those smiles make it all worthwhile! 🥰
Our priority will always be making sure everyone feels welcome, valued, included and happy.

Our first full week at Connect Day Opportunities 💙

What a week it has been!

I can honestly say that leaving my permanent post as a social worker to take this leap was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Seeing Connect go from an idea I had in my head to a real space, with people coming through the door and making it their own, has been such a special feeling.

This first week has been about settling in, getting to know everyone, learning their individual likes and dislikes and seeing what makes each person smile. We’re learning as we go, and I’m so excited about everything that lies ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me and believed in Connect so far. To the families who have put their trust in us, connect staff, and everyone who has helped us get to this point. THANK YOU ❤️

Our First Week at Connect 👏

Our first week has been all about getting to know each other, settling in and becoming familiar with our surroundings. 💙

We’re so happy to have created a space where our attendees can enjoy a better structure and routine to their week, make new friendships, have fun and feel a real sense of belonging.

It’s also so important to us that parents and carers get some much-needed respite, knowing that their loved ones are safe, supported, cared for and enjoying their time at Connect. 💙

🎂 We also celebrated a very special birthday this week! Happy Birthday to our lovely Jamie, such a gentle soul who always keeps us smiling with his favourite saying, “We are only here for the crack!” 😄 We hope you had a fantastic birthday, Jamie! 🎂💙

The next few weeks will be a settling in period. Then we’ll be getting stuck into lots of exciting activities — including getting our Connect Choir up and running! 🎶
