Sharing ❤️
The last couple of days in yoga have been deep and meaningful, and they've left me reflecting.
Losing my Mum threw me into the deepest grief. But the hardest part wasn't only her absence; it was the total silence from my father, who lives right down the road. No message. No visit. Just the loudness of silence.
And somewhere inside, that little inner child still hoped that maybe, when I turned 50 last year, there might be a simple “Happy Birthday.” But there wasn't.
In yoga, we talk about Aparigraha — non-attachment, letting go, releasing what we cannot control.
My practice right now is dropping the rope.
Letting go of the waiting. Letting go of hoping for acknowledgment from people who choose silence. Not because it doesn't hurt, but because I don't want to keep giving my energy to something I cannot change.
Instead, I'm learning to pour that love back into myself, and into the people who show up, who care, and who are there for one another.
And then, over the last couple of days, a beautiful reminder of why we do this.
One lovely lady reached out and opened up. She shared something personal, and it reminded me that sometimes creating a little space, being present and simply listening can mean more than we realise.
Isn't this what yoga is about too?
Not just the postures, but connection. Making space. Supporting each other. Being there when someone needs it.
So maybe today, reach out. Step up. Ask someone how they really are. Give someone a hug. 🤗
You never know what someone is carrying.
What are you holding onto?
Inhale love.
Exhale the heavy s**t.
Repeat as necessary. 🤍
