Not sure what to get the guy who has it all?

Why not get a voucher, they can use towards all our services (except memberships). Maybe a massage or if they are sporty a personal training session or if you want them to run lots a VO2 max test 😉.

All vouchers have a 6month expiry from day of purchase and can either be online or just ask for a physical one.

Went to to the expo.

This one tends to be more aimed at gym owners and gym setting rather than the therapies.

As part of my role being a sports therapist/ performance scientist and running a company, I like to go to a lot of expos each year, so I can see what is likely to be trendy in years to come. I compare myself to what others are doing and attend small lectures on a variety of topics.

Going to places like this and meeting with suppliers and also I get to see my industry friends from around the country.

Have another next week at To***co Dock which I may have put on a pedestal in my head 🙈 called the Longevity show. It should have a lot of science stuff that I already use in the unit so will be good to connect to others in a similar position.

I talk about what to expect during a VO2 max test using the portable kit. We cover the entire process: starting with a consent form and goal-setting, beginning with 10 minutes of acclimatization at around a zone two pace, then gradually increasing speed by 0.5 km/h every minute until you can’t continue. I film your gait from multiple angles to provide feedback on efficiency, and afterward we analyze your results including VO2 levels, training zones, VT1 and VT2 thresholds, breathing frequency, and tidal volume. It’s a comprehensive, gold-standard assessment of cardiovascular fitness that’s fun and leaves you feeling energized.

Stop guessing and start testing!

Massive congratulations to Lisa for completing her ‘Mighty Hike’ today 1/2 marathon distance over hilly terrain. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Lisa has been doing 1-1 strength and conditioning sessions with me for about 12 weeks prior to make sure her body had the best chance for success. She’s super lovely, always smiling and we always have fun. More importantly absolutely smashed the hike!

If you have an event and want to do some strength and conditioning to help alongside or even want to generally improve your strength please drop me a message.

Next time .dexa will be down at the unit for scans. Super reasonably priced and pop in BH20 for a further £20 off.

If you want to know the truth about your body composition, Dexa Scanning is the GOLD STANDARD, your scales at home work off an algorithm of the Dexa data. The guys are super lovely and professional. Just wear loose clothing and you’re in and out within 30min, the results are usually with 24hours.

The results are super easy to understand and equally they or we are on hand if you want further advice.

Today’s topic is first aid related. I was fortunate that my neighbour was around to help me out and that I wasn’t fully choking. Also I’m totally fine now. This isn’t a sympathy post more of an educational one.

If you haven’t done a first aid course or it’s been a while please go and do one. You never know when you may need it.

Ok! Watching this, doesn’t it make your heart feel full! 🥰🥰

Introducing Barbara and Paul both born completely deaf. They started strength and conditioning with me about 15 weeks ago from a recommendation from their daughter (who does Olympic lifting with me).

The sessions are more based for Paul who had a hip replacement surgery 2 years ago and due to lack of inadequate rehab at the time, meant he needs walking aids. He literally couldn’t stand up unaided at the start, so to be standing and moving doing boxing just fills me with so much JOY! (This is only the second time they have ever hit pads).

These 2 are so much fun to train. I was a little nervous about communicating initially, as I don’t speak sign language, but it really hasn’t been a barrier at all.

They are proof that it is NEVER TOO LATE to start exercise and have good quality of life.

So much fun, super lucky to do the job that I do.

If you know someone who could do with some strength training drop me a dm for a free consultation and let’s start that journey!
