🚨🇿🇼 FLU AWARENESS | MANY PEOPLE ARE STILL UNWELL

Influenza activity remains high in Zimbabwe, with many people experiencing fever, headache, dry cough, body aches, poor appetite and significant weakness.

For most people, rest, plenty of fluids and appropriate symptom relief are important. Antibiotics do not treat influenza and should only be used when prescribed by a healthcare professional.

😷 Mask up when appropriate
🧼 Wash or sanitise your hands regularly
🏠 Stay home when unwell where possible

⚠️ Seek medical help urgently for difficulty breathing, chest pain, persistent high fever, severe weakness or confusion, dehydration, or if symptoms improve and then worsen again.

There is no need for panic — but there is every reason to take sensible precautions and look out for those most vulnerable.

🩺 TODAY IN MEDICAL HISTORY

Episode 2 – The First Vaccination

A single act of prevention changed the course of history.

On 14 May 1796, Dr Edward Jenner performed the world’s first successful vaccination against smallpox, laying the foundation for modern immunisation.

His pioneering work has helped protect billions of people and has saved countless lives across generations.

At National Care Link, we believe prevention is just as important as treatment. Every step towards better health begins with knowledge and timely care.

🩺 TODAY IN MEDICAL HISTORY | 27 JULY 1921

Some discoveries don’t just change medicine—they change the future of humanity.

On this day in 1921, Dr Frederick Banting and Charles Best successfully isolated insulin, transforming diabetes from a disease that was often fatal into one that millions of people around the world can live with and manage every day.

More than a century later, that breakthrough continues to remind us that behind every medical advancement is one simple purpose: helping people live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

At National Care Link, we are proud to support individuals and families through compassionate, professional healthcare—because every life deserves dignity, hope and the very best care.

🇿🇼 THE GREATEST GIFT...
When someone you love reaches the final chapter of life, the greatest gift isn't medicine.
It's being there.
It's holding a hand. It's hearing their voice. It's sharing one more smile. It's knowing they are surrounded by compassion, dignity and love.
For families living abroad, distance can make those moments feel impossible. But with the right support, you can still be part of the journey—helping your loved one receive the care they deserve while staying connected every step of the way.

🇿🇼 IS MUM OR DAD REALLY OKAY?

Sometimes the biggest warning signs aren’t emergencies—they’re the small changes we overlook.

If your loved one in Zimbabwe is becoming forgetful, eating less, spending more time alone, or simply saying “I’m fine” when your instincts tell you otherwise, it may be time for a professional home visit.

❤️ Don’t wait for a crisis.

Who Checks Mum? ❤️

Living abroad isn’t easy.

You make the calls.
You send the money.
You do everything you can.

But sometimes, what brings the greatest peace of mind is knowing that someone is there to knock on the door, check in, and genuinely care.

Because care goes beyond money.

At National Care Link, we’re honoured to be that trusted presence for families across Zimbabwe.

🇬🇧 You’re in the UK.
🇿🇼 They’re in Zimbabwe.
❤️ We’re there when you can’t be.

💬 If your mum or dad lives in Zimbabwe, who checks on them when you can’t?
