Vision Action Vision Action works for a world in which everyone has affordable access to eye care and glasses

Vision Action sees a world where no one lives in poverty because of poor eyesight and no one lives with poor eyesight because of poverty. Our mission is to enable people living in poverty to access affordable spectacles and eye care, and our goal is to support the achievement of Universal Eye Health Coverage with a focus on reducing visual impairment and blindness caused by Uncorrected Refractive Error.

Vision Action is delighted to be attending the 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE Kenya event this week, hosted by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.

Representing Vision Action at the event will be our Co-CEO, Tiwonge Mwase-Vuma, who will be available throughout the week to discuss partnership opportunities, programme development and our work to improve access to eye health services across Ethiopia, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Zambia.

Through community-based eye care, school eye health programmes, workforce development and health system strengthening, Vision Action is helping more children and adults access the eye care they need to learn, work and thrive.

If you're attending , we'd love to connect. Please do say hello to Tiwonge and Dr Hannah Fall, Trustee of Vision Action, and learn more about the impact we can achieve together.

🧡 Celebrating our amazing volunteers this Volunteers’ Week 🧡

At Vision Action, we are incredibly grateful to every volunteer who generously gives their time and shares their skills to support our work.

From the UK to Africa, your dedication, compassion, and commitment make a real difference—helping us deliver our programmes and move closer to achieving our mission and goals.

🎉 20% of the way there! We've now raised more than £10,000 towards our £50,000 emergency appeal target. 🎉

Can you help us protect vital eye care services for children and families across Sub-Saharan Africa?

Like many charities, Vision Action is facing rising costs and reduced funding. We are working urgently to close a funding gap that threatens our ability to continue delivering eye tests, glasses, screenings and sight-saving treatment to communities where access to eye care is often limited or simply unavailable.

While we're encouraged by this early progress, there is still a long way to go. Every donation brings us closer to ensuring children can continue learning, playing and building brighter futures through better sight.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our appeal and stood alongside Vision Action so far. Together, you are helping protect vital eye care services and ensure that children and families continue to receive the sight-saving support they urgently need.

A message from the Vision Action Co-CEOs...

This week, Vision Action is launching a £50,000 appeal to help protect and expand essential eye health services for children and communities living in poverty.

Across the countries where we work, too many people are still living with avoidable vision impairment simply because they cannot access basic eye care, glasses, or treatment.

We are incredibly grateful that bloobloom has already contributed the first £10,000 towards our target. Now, we are inviting our wider community to help us raise the remaining £40,000.

Your support could help provide eye screenings, glasses, treatment, and sight-saving care for children and adults who would otherwise go without, including through programmes like our child eye health work in Ghana.

Together, we can help people see clearly, learn confidently, support their families and fulfil their potential.

Give a child the gift of sight and a future full of possibility 🌍

On April 26th, our incredible runners will take on the London Marathon to raise funds for life-changing eye care across Sub-Saharan Africa. Just £5 can help provide a child with a vital eye screening that could completely change their education and future.

Imagine struggling at school because you can’t see the board clearly, or missing out on everyday moments that others take for granted. For many children, that is their reality.

Your support can help change that.

Donate today and help us bring sight, hope, and opportunity to children who need it most⭐.
