Supported Community Business

Supported Community Business At SCB, we help individuals grow in confidence, build real-world skills and find purpose in everyday achievements. SUPPORT A CHARITY THAT WORKS FOR YOU!

We believe everyone deserves a place to feel safe, supported and included. Our aim is to provide a therapeutic workshop facility for people in the locality with special needs / learning difficulties who wish to explore the world of work in a safe and controlled environment. Outwork is sourced from local businesses, providing real and meaningful work tasks which, through instruction and supervision

from dedicated staff, enables service users to learn basic work and life skills, gain an understanding of the world around them, interact and form friendships, grow in confidence and gain a sense of well being. The structured routine also offers parents and carers respite and the opportunity to organise their own time. If you feel you could support us, either through providing outwork or by offering support, please contact us via our website. You can also show your support through making a donation via 'JustGiving', shop through the on-line site 'The Giving Machine', or just by liking our page.

⚽🎉 SCB FAMILY FUN DAY – THIS SUNDAY AT CREWE ALEX STADIUM! 🎉⚽

Just a final reminder that our SCB Family Fun Day takes place this Sunday at Crewe Alexandra Stadium and we cannot wait to see everybody there!

This special event is all about bringing the SCB community together whilst raising valuable funds to continue supporting the wonderful opportunities, activities and projects we provide for our trainees 💙

Any trainees taking part as a mascot or joining the stadium tour should please arrive for 1:00pm to allow enough time to get organised before kick-off.

Those taking part in the half-time penalty shootout should make sure they wear appropriate footwear 👟

☀️ The weather is set to be very warm, so please remember:
🧢 Hats
🧴 Sun cream
💧 Plenty to drink

Please also be aware that the funfair will be setting up on the adjacent stadium car park, so allow a little extra time for travel and parking.

Activities will initially take place within the Hybrid Lounge, with people outside the stadium directing attendees to the correct entrance.

💷 Please bring some money for refreshments and for anyone wishing to take part in the fundraising activities happening throughout the afternoon.

🚕 For anybody arranging taxis or lifts home, the event is expected to finish shortly before 5:00pm.

Everyone is welcome and it is not too late to come along and support the day!

We look forward to seeing you all there!

⭐ Could you spare 30 seconds to leave SCB a Google review? ⭐

Reviews really do make a huge difference to small charities like ours. They help more people discover SCB, learn about what we do and give confidence to families, businesses and the wider community.

Whether you’re:
💜 A trainee or family member
🌱 Someone who has purchased one of our wooden planters or products
📦 A business we’ve completed work for
🤝 A supporter, volunteer or visitor

We’d be incredibly grateful if you could leave us a quick 5-star review here:

🚨 SCB Community Help Needed 🚨

As many of you know, we have our huge charity football match taking place at Crewe Alexandra Football Club on Sunday 24th May ⚽💜

Unfortunately, we’ve been advised that we won’t be able to use the stadium PA system and we really want to make sure the entertainment, announcements and activities taking place on the pitch have a decent sound system behind them.

We do already have some battery-powered speakers which will cover us if needed, however we are ideally looking for something a bit more substantial and higher powered — ideally a proper PA setup that could either run from mains power via extension leads or potentially come with a generator if required.

If you personally have access to anything suitable, work within events/music/audio, or know a local business, DJ or events company who may be willing to donate the use of a system or volunteer to help support the day, we’d really appreciate you reaching out to them on our behalf or putting us directly in touch.

Thank you as always for the incredible support shown to SCB and our trainees 💜

💜 We wanted to reshare this post as a recognition of the incredible parents and carers behind our trainees.

The progress, confidence and independence we see at SCB each day is so often built on the love, support, patience and hard work that happens at home behind the scenes. It really does make a huge difference and never goes unnoticed. 💜

This event shared by Cheshire East Council may be useful to some of our SCB families, so please have a look at the original post for full details.

Together, we GROW 💜

Carers Week 2026 - Building Carer Friendly Communities

This Carers Week, we’re celebrating the unpaid carers who do so much every day – and shining a light on how we can build communities where carers feel seen, valued and supported.

Across Cheshire East, thousands of people provide unpaid care to a family member or friend who has a long term illness, disability, or age related need.

Many don’t even recognise themselves as carers – yet their contribution is vital to our communities and services.

Did you know?
In Cheshire East, around 1 in 10 people provide unpaid care, reflecting national trends from the 2021 Census on unpaid carers. [https://orlo.uk/MR0Fk]

Join us during Carers Week
We can help make everyday life a little easier for carers, from access to information and wellbeing support to spaces where carers feel understood and welcome.
Come along, meet local organisations, access advice and support, or simply take some time out in a welcoming space.

Dates and locations:
📍 Tuesday 9th June – Salinae Day Centre, Middlewich CW10 9DG
📍 Thursday 11th June – Macclesfield Town Hall (Silk Room), Macclesfield SK10 1EA
⏰ 10.30am – 2.30pm

Free tea, coffee, and refreshments will be available at both events.

By working together - communities, health services, voluntary organisations, and neighbours , we can all play a role in building truly Carer Friendly Communities.
