That first photo hurts. I was smiling, but underneath I felt ashamed, broken, and completely trapped in a body I no longer recognised. I hated seeing myself, hated how uncomfortable I felt in my own skin, and felt so much pain every time I looked in the mirror. I was genuinely terrified I’d never change and ashamed that I’d let myself get to that point. There’s over 10 stone between these photos. I’ll never forget how helpless, embarrassed, and hopeless I felt.
