๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ - in today's โThe Timesโ newspaper.
โ
โDid you know that ๐๐๐๐๐ is a prescription-only medication?
โ
โThe Times newspaper found that beauticians in the UK are injecting women with black market versions of Botox, putting them at risk of being disfigured for life.
โ
โIn general, prescription medications can only be prescribed by a medical professional with a prescribing license. The Times also found that beauticians are targeting women and girls on social media and many of them use products that have not gone through safety checks and are not licensed for use in the UK.
The investigator also found that a practitioner said he was a doctor but actually he is not registered as one in Britain.
โ
โThe Times also noted that there have been increasing reports of disfigurements such as permanent facial scarring and large sores caused by injections with unlicensed versions of Botox, often carried out in people's homes and at beauty salons.
โ
โIn the UK and in general, dispensing a prescription-only medication without a prescription is illegal. The licensed prescriber (e.g. doctor, nurse prescriber etc) must carry out a face-to-face consultation with you before a prescription can be generated.
โ
โIf your beautician is offering 'Botox' injections, there is a high possibility that they are committing an illegal act and you should consider reporting them to the relevant authority.
