🇬🇧❤️ A very special afternoon at High Broom ❤️🇬🇧

We were delighted to officially unveil our beautiful new Veteran’s Bench, with the lovely Mrs P doing the honours and cutting the ribbon! ✂️🎀

It was wonderful to welcome the Crowborough & District Veterans Association and the Tester & Jones Bereavement Group to join us for this special occasion.

We all enjoyed a lovely quiz, followed by an amazing afternoon tea and plenty of wonderful conversation. ☕🍰❤️

A huge thank you to Tester & Jones for kindly donating the plaque, which makes our bench even more special.

Our bench is a place to sit, reflect and remember, honouring the service and sacrifice of those who have served.

🧶👶 Made with love, one stitch at a time… 💕

Just look at this incredible collection! 🥹🧶

Our wonderful residents, relatives and staff have been busy knitting for the Special Care Baby Unit at Haywards Heath, and the final count is rather amazing…

🩷 50 beautiful baby hats
🩵 20 bonding blankets
💛 1 larger blanket

That’s a LOT of knitting, a LOT of cups of tea… and probably the occasional dropped stitch! 😂☕🧶

Every single piece has been handmade with love and is now packed up and ready for collection, before making its way to some very special little babies and their families. 👶❤️

We are so proud of everyone who picked up their needles and contributed. Residents, relatives and staff alike. What started with a few balls of wool has turned into something really rather special. 🥰

🎂💕 Happy Birthday, Mrs S! 💕🎂

We had a wonderful time celebrating the lovely Mrs S on her birthday, surrounded by family, friends and plenty of smiling faces. 🥰

And when it came to the all-important birthday cake, Mrs S had one very clear request… CHOCOLATE! 🍫😂

Well, when it’s your birthday, you get to make the rules and we think the kitchen certainly delivered! 🎂👏

A beautiful afternoon filled with visits, cards, laughter, cups of tea and, of course, a generous slice or two of that fabulous chocolate cake. ❤️

☀️🌙 Eyes to the skies at High Broom! 🌙☀️

There was a little bit of excitement in the air as our residents headed outside, donned their very fetching eclipse glasses 😎 and settled down to watch the partial solar eclipse.

We’re not sure what was more impressive… the eclipse itself or our ladies absolutely rocking the eyewear! 😂😎

There was plenty of sunshine, lots of anticipation and a wonderful opportunity to experience something a little different together. ❤️

And of course, we had to try our best to capture the moment on camera too! 📸🌙☀️

A lovely evening spent together, enjoying one of nature’s rather spectacular shows. ✨

🧸💕 What a Beary wonderful day! 💕🧸

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Community Teddy Bears’ Picnic! It was so lovely to see residents, relatives, friends and visitors all coming together to share such a special afternoon.

There was something for everyone… from our Teddy Bear Hunt, colouring competition, Best Dressed Teddy competition, delicious picnic treats and our adorable Teddy cake, to the ever-popular pony rides. 🐴🍰

The real stars of the show were undoubtedly our giant Teddy Bear and the beautiful pony Lady! 🧸🐴

A very special thank you to Jo, Sienna and Lauren, and of course Lady, for giving so many children the opportunity to enjoy a pony ride. Your kindness, patience and generosity helped make the day even more magical.

Our giant Teddy spent the afternoon handing out cuddles, posing for photos and making lots of new friends. He was adored by almost everyone… although little Fliss made it very clear she’d rather admire him from a safe distance! 😂 (We promise Teddy is much cuddlier than he looks!)

The biggest joy of the day wasn’t the games or the cake, it was seeing so many smiles, hearing laughter fill the garden, watching generations come together, and creating memories that will last long after the picnic blankets have been packed away.

We already can’t wait to do it all again! 🧸🌳☀️
