FREE Women’s Health Community Event

We’re delighted to be hosting a free Women’s Health evening at Peninsula Private Medical on Wednesday 7 October, 7pm to 9pm, in partnership with Nuffield Health Taunton and Exeter Hospitals.
The evening is designed to be informal, friendly and informative, with an opportunity to hear from local healthcare professionals, ask questions and learn more about some important areas of women’s health.

We’ll be joined by:
- Dr Charlie Brough, GP with a special interest in Menopause & Women’s Health
- Wendy Witherstone, Mammographer at Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital
- Barbara Bargh, Radiology Manager at Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital

Topics will include mammography and breast care, menopause and women’s health, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions in a relaxed environment.

Skin cancer awareness has been in the news again today, with increasing discussion around delayed diagnosis and rising concern about changing moles and skin lesions.

At Peninsula Private Medical, we know many people are unsure whether a mole or skin change is something to worry about, or simply find themselves waiting a long time for reassurance.

While many skin changes are harmless, it is important not to ignore:
• A mole changing in size, shape or colour
• New or unusual skin lesions
• Persistent scabbing or bleeding
• Areas that itch or do not heal properly

Our GP-led mole check and skin assessment service provides a professional review in a calm and supportive environment, with onward referral or treatment advice where needed.

In selected cases, we can also offer minor skin surgery through our Peninsula Surgical service.

Most importantly, if something has changed and you are concerned, it is always worth getting it checked.
