If you hear yourself saying, “As soon as I eat one, I can’t stop,” you’re definitely not the only one.

I used to think that meant I just needed more discipline. More willpower. More self-control.

But the truth is, some foods make stopping incredibly difficult. Because they’re designed to keep you coming back for another bite... and then another.

Most of these foods have been carefully created in a lab to make them, the ideal shape, ideal size, ideal taste, to be EXTREMELY addictive.

Have you ever opened a packet of crisps, biscuits or sweets thinking you’ll just have 1 or a few, only to look down 10 minutes later and realise they’ve all gone? Most of us have.

What I’ve learned is that beating yourself up never changes the behavior. Understanding it does.

Sometimes you’re not craving the food itself, you’re actually tired, stressed, overwhelmed, bored, or looking for comfort after a long day.

Sometimes you’ve been restricting foods so much that the moment you allow yourself to have them, it’s hard to stop.

And sometimes the food is just really, really easy to overeat.

Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?” try asking, “What’s going on here?”

That small shift changes everything.

Food doesn’t need to be a daily battle. You don’t have to earn your meals. You don’t need to prove your worth through self-control.

You can be someone who enjoys food, trusts themselves around it, and still takes care of their health.

And if you occasionally eat more than you planned?

You’re human.

Not a failure. Just human.

Every time you take action, you’re telling yourself “this is who I am”.
