Cumbria Health’s Business Team, alongside the WorkWell and Connect to Work teams, proudly represented the organisation at the Cumbria Business Expo 2026.

The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity to engage with a wide range of businesses from across Cumbria and the North East, building new relationships and strengthening existing partnerships. Throughout the day, we spoke with employers about the support available through our services and explored ways in which we can work collaboratively to improve workforce health, wellbeing, and employment outcomes.

We had many positive conversations with businesses about how the WorkWell programme can support their staff members to remain in work, return to work, and manage health-related barriers to employment. The Expo highlighted the shared commitment across the region to supporting healthier workplaces and stronger communities, and we look forward to developing the connections made during the event.

It was a pleasure for Suzy Ryan and Kate Scott to join the CIPD Annual General Meeting and Wellbeing Event to share insights into the WorkWell North and South Cumbria programmes.

We enjoyed discussing how WorkWell supports people with health conditions to stay in, return to, and thrive at work, while exploring the vital role employers play in creating inclusive, supportive and healthy workplaces.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with HR and people professionals from across the region, hear different perspectives on workplace wellbeing, and share practical approaches to supporting employee health and wellbeing. It was also inspiring to hear from Georgie Hubberstey of Westmorland and Furness Council and Jessica Sanders of Anord Mardix about their organisations' wellbeing initiatives and the positive impact they are having on their workforce.

A big thank you to Sally Keith and Phillippa Hardy, the CIPD organisers, for the invitation, and to everyone who attended, asked questions and contributed to the discussion. The level of engagement throughout the morning highlighted just how important workplace wellbeing remains for organisations and their people.

We look forward to continuing the conversation and working together to create healthier, more inclusive workplaces across Cumbria.

Hi everyone 👋

I’m Kim, the Senior Work and Health Coach for Work Well North Cumbria.

I’ve lived in West Cumbria all my life and for the last 16 years I’ve worked in roles supporting people to find the right solutions for them, whatever challenges they may be facing.

I’m also a mum of two young children, so I understand that balancing work, health, family life and everything else life throws at us isn’t always easy, and there are definitely days when the juggle feels more like a struggle.

I’m passionate about offering impartial support and helping people explore the next right step forwards for them. I know that having the right support alongside you can make a real difference.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be using our Facebook and Instagram pages to share more about:

⭐ What Work Well is
⭐ Who the service is for
⭐ How we can help
⭐ Common myths and misconceptions
⭐ Meet the team posts
⭐ Information about our partner organisations

We’re looking forward to sharing more with you, if there's anything you'd like to know about us then let us know in the comments 😊
