This is bigger than one person becoming a commercial pilot — it’s another barrier coming down for people living with Type 1 diabetes 🙏🏻

For years, a T1D diagnosis could automatically close the door on certain careers. Advances in diabetes technology, monitoring and understanding are changing that.

To every child, teenager or adult with Type 1: your diagnosis does not define the limits of your future 🙌🏻

The possibilities are changing. Keep dreaming big. 💙✈️

Sharing the signs and common symptoms to ensure people are aware what to look out for 💙

🩺 Type 1 diabetes isn't just a childhood condition.

Over 50% of new cases are diagnosed in adults - and symptoms are often missed or misdiagnosed.

👀 Know the 4Ts:
🚽 Toilet - going more often
🥤 Thirsty - can't quench it
😴 Tired - low energy
⚖️ Thinner - unplanned weight loss

While the 4Ts are the most common symptoms of type 1 diabetes, there are other signs to look out for in adults. They could include ge***al itching or thrush, cuts and wounds that take longer to heal, and blurry eyesight.

Type 1 can affect anyone at any age. Spot the signs. Save a life. 💙

Exercise is so important for everyone but with Type 1 Diabetes, it goes hand-in-hand with treatment.

Make sure you are getting your exercise to boost your insulin sensitivity and overall health 🫂

A recent study found that six 40-second sprints at max effort increased plasma BDNF by nearly 3 times MORE than 90 minutes of light exercise.

BDNF is your brain’s fertilizer—it drives neuroplasticity, sharpens memory, and protects against cognitive decline. It plays a critical role in mental health, mood regulation, and even metabolism.

Higher BDNF levels are linked to lower rates of depression, anxiety, and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

The study also reveals that fasting for 20 hours does not impact exercise-induced BDNF levels, meaning you can maximize brain benefits whether you train fasted or fed.

So if you only have 6 minutes in your day, make them count—just a few bursts of high-intensity movement can rewire your brain, boost resilience, and protect long-term cognitive health.
