Key skills required:
- Assessing the patients on admission, as well as on a regular basis throughout.
- Developing care plans of nursing care requirements and treatments.
- Building trust and therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Administering medication as prescribed by the doctors.
- Monitoring physical health and wellbeing, and progress of patients.
- Writing and updating patient records.
- Assessing treatment success at case conferences and meetings.
- Ensuring correct documentation of patient care and all other legal documentation are in order.
- Giving advice and arranging support for patients and their relatives, carers, and visitors.
- Liaising with doctors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide professional and clinical leadership, support and guidance, ensuring the planning and delivery of care is safe and effective.
- Ability to delegate and plan your workload well.
- Working in accordance to the NMC code of professional conduct and relevant professional guidelines.
- Have effective communication and uphold the highest standard of care at all times.
Also:
- You must have an active pin
- Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to be adaptable to situations that may arise.
- Minimum of one yearβs nursing experience.
- Experience of shift leading is desirable although not essential.
