🏛️ **Doors Open Days 2026**
We’re delighted to be taking part in **Doors Open Days** once again!
On **Sunday 27 September 2026, from 10:30am–4:00pm**, everyone is welcome to visit the beautiful Georgian villa of **James Smith**, the merchant who laid out Smith’s Place in 1814.
The building has been home to **Raimes Clark & Co Ltd since 1835** and is now the Head Office of our pharmacies. It retains many of its original features, including the **oval central staircase, Adam fireplaces, and the oldest surviving walled garden in Leith**. It remains a fine example of a Leith merchant’s house.
This year, we’re also celebrating the **bicentenary of Lindsay & Gilmour**, while Raimes Clark dates back even further to **1816**.
As part of the event, visitors can enjoy tours of the building, along with displays of **historic pharmaceutical artefacts, documents and equipment**.
