This week is Men's Health Week - ending on Father's Day Sunday 21st June.
Its purpose is to raise awareness specifically of men's mental and physical health.
Recent statistics show around 40% of men won't talk about their mental health with either their friends or family. Therefore, many individuals continue to suffer in silence.
According to the Mental Health Foundation, approximately 1 in 8 men struggle with mental health problems such as anxiety, stress and depression.
When left without help and support, these problems can worsen.
This is highlighted in current statistics - in the UK, 3 out of 4 su***des are men. Furthermore, su***de is the biggest killer of men under 45.
Sadly and unacceptably, men's mental health continues to remain overlooked and stigmatised.
By acknowledging and addressing this huge issue, we can encourage open conversations, enabling early intervention, and utilising the various support networks.
As always - for anyone struggling (men or women) my inbox is always open ❤️
