We're looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our growing team at Alvusana, based at our laboratory in Daresbury. Alvusana is an innovative equine biotechnology company built on years of pioneering research at the University of Manchester. As we expand our commercial testing services, we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us and help bring cutting-edge science to the equine industry.
π¬ What you'll be doing
You'll play a key role in our laboratory by:
*Processing horse faecal samples and preparing them for analysis
*Performing immunological and biochemical assays to measure gut health and inflammation
*Ensuring samples are handled correctly from receipt through to testing
*Maintaining accurate laboratory records
*Helping deliver reliable, high-quality results for our customers
π We're looking for someone who is:
* Reliable, organised and conscientious
* Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also enjoying being part of a small team
* Interested in biology, equine science, animal health or nutrition
*Keen to learn and contribute to a fast-growing biotech company

Experience:
*Previous laboratory experience is an advantage but not essential
*Experience handling horses would be beneficial but is not essential
*Full training will be provided, so we're looking for the right person rather than the perfect CV
π The role
*Flexible working hours to fit our laboratory workflow (typically 15β25 hours per week, mainly between 9am and 5pm)
*Excellent opportunities to progress into a full-time role as the company grows.
For applicants with equine experience, there may also be opportunities to visit customers, yards and events.
