Happy International Nurses day ❤️

How it started:
I joined the St. Johns ambulance as a cadet at the age of 12 and loved it. We could attend events, helping in the medical tent. My mum says that I'd be really disappointed if we didn't get many people to treat / help 🤣

Why I Love nursing:

It has given me the opportunity to have a varied career. There's always something new to learn and opportunities to develop. Most of all I enjoy caring and making a difference to someone's journey. I have met some incredible people during my career and made some lifelong friends.

Medicines Health and Regulations Authority MHRA.

Who are they, and what do they do?

The MHRA regulates medicines, including vaccines, supplied in the UK. Our activity spans the whole of a medicine’s lifecycle. We decide whether medicines should be granted licences (also known as Marketing Authorisations) and whether licences can be varied as information about the medicines develop. These decisions are based on safety, quality and effectiveness data submitted to us.

ALL MEDICINES ADMINISTERED SHOULD BE MHRA APPROVED.

THIS INCLUDES BOTULINUM TOXIN TYPE A often referred to as BOTOX.

There are currently 7 brands licensed in the UK.
BOTOX
BOCOUTURE
AZZALURE
were the main 3 for quite some time, but there are some newer licensed products to the UK market.

I am passionate about Safety in Aesthetics.

The recent and horrendous complications that many patients have suffered as a result of being administered unlicensed products by cosmetic injectors is horrific.

Raising awareness and educating the Public will hopefully improve this.

Aesthetics is a recognised discipline in Medicine, therefore, I would suggest that this means it should be carried out by a medical professional......

SAFETY IN AESTHETICS is paramount.

Please do your research first and ensure your practitioner :

1. Is trained and a medical professional. Botox is a prescription medication and can only be prescribed by Doctors or Non- medical prescriber. You should have a face to face with your prescriber who will assess suitability and explain the risks and benefits of treatment, enabling you to make an informed consent.

2. The medication should be licensed and supplied by a UK pharmacy. Ask your practitioner to verify this.

3. Be insured to carry out aesthetic procedures.

ALL Health Care Professionals are regulated and registered. The register can be checked by anyone.
