April can be an interesting time of year for our equine partners. I've spoken with a fair number who are bringing horses back into full, summer levels of work after winter, which always brings varying levels of physical challenges, depending on how this is done and the individual horse. Secondly, a spell of rain followed by this lovely sunshine has, of course, shifted sugar in the grass, impacting energy levels, systemic inflammation and metabolic processes. And then you have the energy requirements of shedding the remainder of the winter coat in changeable weather conditions challenging them (especially when unclipped) when regulating their body temperature.
What I cover in equine bodywork, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy and red light therapy, works with each horse with individually tailored sessions to address restrictions and compensations before they become chronic.
