Strathcarron Hospice We're a Hospice charity providing free specialist palliative & end of life care for local people. We need to raise over £14,632 every day to keep these running.

Strathcarron Hospice is here today for and because of the people of Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth. Every year, we provide care and support to over 1,400 people with a life-limiting illness or condition, at a time when both they and their family need it most. Our philosophy is about living until you die and we ensure people have every opportunity to achieve their goals right up until the la

st moment. Strathcarron is an independent hospice and all of our care is provided free of charge. Our services include a 24-bed inpatient unit, Day Care, Hospice@Home, Community Nurse Specialists and Lymphoedema clinic.

"Sleep well dad, always and forever missed..."

Those who have lost a loved one and been cared for by Strathcarron Hospice can now leave a dedication in their memory online in their honour.

You can add your loved one’s name, a photo and a comment and see it sit alongside other dedications commemorating the thousands of people across Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth that the Hospice has cared for.

Strathcarron Hospice Fundraising Manager Jackie Johnston said: “2026 marks 45 years since the first team at Strathcarron Hospice welcomed their first patients through their doors.

"Who would have known how far our care would spread and how many lives we could touch all these years later?

"Let’s commemorate all the many special people we’ve had the privilege to know.

"By your side, we too reflect with love.”

👩‍❤️‍👨 Not many people would choose to take on a 300km charity cycle for their 52nd wedding anniversary – but that's exactly what Kevin and Linda are doing!

The couple are cycling the Camino Portuguese in aid of Strathcarron Hospice - approximately 3,000 meters of climbing from Porto in Portugal up to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

Back in 2024, they completed a gruelling 900km cycle along the Camino del Norte and Camino Primitivo in memory of their dear friend Pat, raising vital funds for Strathcarron Hospice along the way.

Now, at 74 years young, they are back in the saddle for their fifth Camino!

Initially Kevin and Linda had planned to ride the Coastal Camino Portuguese quietly for themselves.

However, after reading a moving account of how much Strathcarron had helped a member of their church parish community facing a heart-breaking loss, they looked at each other and agreed - they had one more fundraising Camino left in them!

What an amazing afternoon at the preview of our Strathcarron Stories exhibition at The Barracks Conference Centre, as part of the Stirling Photography Festival.

Award-winning photographer Margaret Mitchell, and Charles McGuigan beautifully presented a selection of their new body of work exploring hospice care from two very different perspectives.

Together, their photographs told a bigger story: hospice care is about so much more than a building. It is about people, places, relationships and being there when it matters most.

🩵 Inside the Hospice, Margaret’s Of Stillness and Care captures the people, moments and everyday objects through which care is given, shaped by conversations with patients, families, staff and volunteers.

👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 Beyond the Hospice walls, Charles’ More Than a Building explores the communities, people and connections at the heart of hospice care. Today, more than 80% of Strathcarron’s specialist care is delivered in local communities.

These stunning images at The Barracks from now until 26th September, so please do visit if you can.
